Here are the rules:
- Popeye has one can of spinach
- Location of the fight: Shrek's swamp
- Popeye's motivation: Shrek is about to eat Olive Oil
- Shrek's motivation: He needs to defeat Popeye to live happily ever after with Fiona
- Popeye's cheering section: That guy that eats a lot of burgers
- Shrek's cheering section: The talking cookie guy and Pinnochio

Well if you watched Shrek3 you can see hes not all that strong. I mean a Ogre should of broke those chains easy and other things. Popeye would of done that plus picked up a house or something and bashed his enemy. But Popeye needs his spinach, if you said who would win if popeye had spinach near him then Popeye would win. But without it the Ogre could just sit on him.
But the fight is in Shrek's swamp. And Shrek is much smarter.
And let's face it: Popeye is a drunk sailor.
I think Shrek would defeat him.
Popeye is like a rifle with ammo. If you run out of ammo there's only a few things that you can do. Against an ogre, there's pretty much only one thing you can do and that's run.
Shrek would win.
Because in the cartoons he only had 1 can or Half a can at max in his pocket, and did the effect really last long? No, maybe 30 seconds.

Shrek is geared more for group encounters than solo PvP. Look at all his fights in his movies. There has not been a one on one except for the dragon in the first movie. Popeye always kicked Bluto's ass.
I shoot for the curve... anything above that is gravy.
How could anyone not pick Popeye? The man is full of epic win just for being who he is. In case you haven't seen the classics..... he owned all of Sinbad's pets and pummeled the 40 thieves. He can't run out of spinach since he practically hides the junk in his pipe. Shrek? Win? That's blasphemous.
