So... The question for which my dysfunctional brain was unable to answer is this: can I play core characters if I only have, let's say, the Nightfal campaign, or can I only play the 2 special classes?

THE TOMATO IS NOT A FRUIT, DAMN IT!!!

    you can play all the original chars plus the 2 special for nightfall, you should not be able to play assassin or ritualist.
