Well, as we all know, Twelve Sky is in CB, being run by Aeria Games...I just go an email today from Game & Game, they are going to be running the game as well, but in OB; kind of strange but not unexpected!

Thats because Aeriagame is publishing the US version while Game n Game or w/e is publishing it for another country.

I think it was that Game n Game is publishing its own server for international use, but under some restrictions: Countries that already have their own 12 Sky servers like the US, Korea, Taiwan, and Japan will not be able to connect to GnG's server, while other countries not listed can.

So mlauzon, if you're living in any of the countries listed, you'll be playing on their respective servers. But who knows, maybe you can get around GnG's location restriction...thing.

Tried it, it's a pointless grind, with silly pointless rvr.

I mean really 3 factions all battle over a square in the middle of a space somewhere...

If you win you get cool stuff though.... so maybe not 100% pointless... lol

The pve is even dumber, mobs basically stand there like AL waiting for you to come kill them, geez you can pratically stand on top of most of them. Mobs in dungeons swarm you, so you can aoe and get better exp per hour, but the drops are worse in dungeons.

This must be the business model that works, because they keep making em and we keep trying em.

Aeria games OB will be starting october 12th.

The game is fairly simplistic but not pointless. The point to any game is to have fun! Personally I found the CB to be verry fun. Granted its not indepth, its more of a hack and slash. Its potion (pills or tablets in the game) guzzling spam your attack fast combat. Not hard but definitly a game to look at if your just looking to pass the time. The grind is not as bad as most korean grinds at all. In CB I played for 2 weeks. In that time I was able to get 9 diffrent characters up to at LEAST 50 some higher. The max level is 145. In CB it was 2x xp. So if you think about it, in 2 weeks I had 9 diffrent characters up to at least 1/3rd the max level. Even if it takes you 2 weeks of grind (with pvp every hour starting at lvl 30) to get 1/3rd the way through its not a bad grind at all.

I dont see this being a long term game for many, but its a great great game to waste a month or 2 on waiting for your next big MMO.

I'm not one for judging games by the first hour of play, but this game really tested my will.

Firstly, the animations where pretty poor, choppy and unclean at first glance, and the biggest killer for me was the lack of level indication on mobs, running outside town and attacking a mob, only to find that it kills me in one hit really isn't motivational

You forgot to mention the lack of an option where you can change screen resolution.

I agree with that! The game has a lot less grinding than most games, but it can get pretty boring at times. The game is really nice community, if you don't count the few people that jerks, like in all games. I just wish they added something more to the game because it's becoming more of a chore to me than a hobbie.

Me and a friend are old Helbreath players. And this game seems to have some of it's elements, so we gave it a try.

Don't mind the grinding, if there is some nice rewarding PvP in the end... Which this game seems to be roaming around.

May not be a long time investment, but I haven't played a MMORPG for more than a week, in 3 months... I need my fix.

in all honesty i was dissapointed... i havent even got a taste of pvp in the time i've played it and the pve isnt in depth at all and there is a SEVERE lack of quests that i cant really complain about because what little quests there are are pointless and a waste of time

  • darkedone02darkedone02 Member UncommonPosts: 581

I don't like the game, after i have reached level 10 in my character(s), I have a hard time leveling up fast, the copper zombies now give you 2% exp per kill, and there are hardly a few, and i cannot even start killing the yellow flag goblins because they are too powerful, and there is hardly any red bandits to kill to level up.

the game lack quests, uniqueness, fun, and lack of awesome skills to use, this game is overall boring to me and why did they waste the money just to create another boring generic mmorpg that is just... plain... boring... over and over again!

Just another poorly made potion spamming Item Mall MMO from our friends to the EAST.   Move on , nothing to see here.

Honestly, I am really looking forward to this game. It seems really interesting. I have studied a lot of Asian history and culture so I hope they are telling the truth when they say it follows all Asian history and not just Chinese. Sadly, this makes me miss playing Xiah, KAL Online, and Martial Heroes. -_-

  • ZikielZikiel Member Posts: 1,138

You shouldn't. It's probably better in some ways than most of the atypical medieval asian stuff we get, but it's very lacking in some areas. Give it a go, but don't expect much.

Ok, since nobody here has given a decent, even semi-experienced review of this game...(come on, don't dis a game you havn't even played for a day)

    1. Leveling  -  Yes, Twelve Sky IS a grind for the most part. However, even a casual gamer can reach level 30 in 2-3 days. Here is where the fun starts. Player versus Player in 12 Sky takes on the form of Realm Versus Realm Versus Realm. Yes, three factions. Gives things a bit of a spin off the, oh I don't know, Horde Versus Alliance thing. (I'll go more in depth about pvp later...) For each pvp battle won, you gain 10% XP to fill up your bar. You also gain acess to caves, with increased drop rates on the more useful and expensive things in the game. These items don't overpower, but help along the way. Leveling can happen fast compared to some games. It isn't uncommon to hit level 100 within a month, maybe a month and a half. The next fourty-five levels become challenging to level at, but we don't want people who don't work to profit right? Here things can slow down to a level every 5-7 days, but it is ok! At this point in the game, new systems of PvP and new events are added to liven things up. The game actually becomes more interesting as you start to level slower, kinda crazy, but ya.

    2. Player Versus Player  -  12 Sky is largely based on PvP. In fact, it is the main emphasis of the game. If you are a pansy and prefer to level and get shiny gear, and like to call yourself 1337 without ever stepping in a battlefield, 12 Sky is not for you. For the majority of the game, the main pvp battles take the form of a fight to "capture the hill" or in this case, a glowing circle called a formation. The fights are similar to Guild Wars' famous Hero's Ascent. Three teams gather at portals, and a timer ticks...when it opens, the teams poor into the portals, into a battlefield, and the battle begins. More strategy can be applied, since unlike Hero's Ascent, you don't gather points over time. Instead, you hold the middle for 5 minutes, and thus win. Teamwork is a humongous emphasis in this game. People who don't work together, and try to 'go hero' usually die within seconds. Do you spam potions (pills and tablets in this case)? Yes. But hell no, that is not what this is about. A good player can use moves such as Death's Finger (also Black Dagger and another name for it I cannot recall), to stun the enemy and stop them from using pills, attacks, or any moves. Finger of Light, Heavenly Finger, and White Dagger can be used to counteract stuns. Many buffs increase all sorts of stats. Also, another need for teamwork is Formation skills. These require 5 grouped people to quickly run into circles that mark a formation, and receive a huge buff in some cases. In other cases, it stuns all enemies caught in the middle, or unleashes a devastating attack with the potential to destroy a foe in a single hit! (Not an automatic kill move, but if the player running the formation is strong enough...) Several other forms of PvP are also in the game, with more introduced every few months. These include the classic Duels, and sometimes use spins off the other PvP such as Paldo. Paldo is like the Hero's Ascent type fights, with the added challenge of needing to defeat several bosses quickly, to gain acess to the middle.

    3. Quests  -  Every 2 levels starting at 14, you receive a quest. Some will be boss fights, requiring effort, a good build and knowledge of the game, and in most cases teamwork (if you want to do it alone, I suggest you bring lots of pills, or play a ranged class and try to kite them). Others will be kill this many of this creature. Fairly easy with a good reward. The easiest are usually the Bring Me This Item ones. Items can simply be given to you by other players, and these quests tend to have the best rewards. The hardest are Boss Fights, but they have nice rewards to and are worth it.

I'm getting a bit tired, but I can add to this article later. Please leave a request for me to do so however, or I'll probably forget. I'll be busy PLAYING THE GAME.  Twelve Sky is a great game, all you need to do is dedicate some time to it. (PS at higher levels you become really shiiiiiiiny....)

I suggest to you all not to post a bad review of a game without playing it, or with minimal playtime. Simply because it is made in Korea and involved grinding as the main leveling source, does not mean it is anywhere near the others in fun.

PSS Yes, you can be a  ninja. Or play a guitar and kill people with your terrible playing, like I do. And if your playing doesn't kill them, then just bash them in the face with it a few times. Whatever works, eh?
