I'm in Beta and to be honest, at first the game seemed exciting and fun, at level 11, it just looks the same, station after station. Sorry, have to say, wash, rinse, repeat.
Among one of the best games I've played this far, and subpar graphics commecnt lool? Time to update that cracker jack computer of yours. I'm in the beta and I will be pre-ordering this game, like any game it just needs work, and for everyone who says "this" game is horrible, and blah blah blah, really if your going to troll go play an actual horrible game.
I was looking forward to HGL coming out and had my mind set to buying it and even setting up a sub for it but after playing the demo and reading on people's comments after playing the beta I'll have to pass up on this and stick with Team Fortress 2 for my online entertainment which is great fun until AoC comes out.
I am not really sure what they were hoping to accomplish with the demo but playing a demo that should make you go out and buy the game and instead getting a "I wish it will end so I can uninstall" feeling is a huge failure. Too bad I guess
Spyware? no thanks Ive spent countless hours runing programs over the last few years to remove spyware and keep it off....why in the hell would I pay someone to install it on my computer?
Dunno why EA thinks they can even get into the mmorpg industry, there's no room for scumbags like them.

Hmm, how do I break this to an ignorant person. EA actually owns the longest running MMo on the market to date. Ultima Online has been up and running since 1997, sorry to have to burst your bubble.
It also isn't spyware btw. It is basically the same as WoW's warden program (Which constantly checks your computers running processes/programs). Steams anti-hack shield program that constantly checks processes and programs running). Along with any number of companies who do not want people constantly hacking their game to bits and pieces.
Just figured i'd get ya up to snuff so you understand how silly your post is.
I'm changing my mind on this game. I've hit level 13 and am starting to see some very cool zones. Chocolate Park was very nice. The game mechanics are improving for me.

The game does grow on you. It becomes more challenging. I'm betting it really becomes challenging in elite mode. That's what I want to see. No impossible play but gameplay where you have to plan your strategy to complete a challenge.
I hit level 16 tonight and got the quest to go into someone's mind, it was stellar. There was also a quest where you control 4 soldiers to take out a named mob, very inovative.
The demo is only a fraction of beta content, which in turn is only a fraction of final release content. This game will be a lot bigger and better than what we have seen.

The quest in Tech 314's brain reminds me of the Maggot Lair from D2.
They actually just announced the pvp. You can enter and exit PVP mode. When you're in it, you can fight with anyone in the levels (not the hubs).
The only way to go into the levels with people is to be in a group with them. That is what I meant by saying there is no diablo 2 style pvp where you can flag yourself and just run out of town and pwn people. In hellgate you'll apparently have to group up just to kill, so griefing will atleast be limited.
i wonder do you even believe that by yourself? how can that even make sense? players with pvp on will end up into same "instance". ofcourse you cant kill those who dont want to be killed by player and thats a good thing if you have ever played diablo on hardcore.
You know what they say about first impressions.... a bad first impression of a game even in demo form is going to definately sway your opinion of the game. If you really disliked how the demo played out then what makes anyone here think they are going to go out and buy the game when they already have such a bad taste in their mouth.
I'm with the other beta folks, this game is really hella fun. I agree that it is mostly a game to play with friends/guildies and I'm happy about that, as most PUG's in games are just an exercise in annoyance. I like that the instances are dynamically spawned based on the set difficulty and number of people in the group.
Fun game, great graphics, I'm gonna buy it. Was not planning on getting it till I played beta for a few nights.

I've been playing this game for a while now, and I've seen no evidence to support what you are saying. I just made my hypothesis based on my experience, so really it could go eithe rway.
The more I play, the better it gets. Just hit Temple Station playing a Cabalist. I have a small army of minions following me around. Reminds me of the Necromancer in D2.

jee..demo is just demo.
it's just a 1% of the whole game.

Booring. Even Dungeon runners is more fun then tis game. UI is just horrible and few ideas are copy/paste from WoW.
oh well, Soldier of fortune 3 come soon
