Not up until 8 pm tonight (EDT) I'll post some comments after I play a bit and get a feel for the game.

I just finished the download and see the server is not up yet. Darn, I'm in GMT+1. Oh well, later I guess

I had problems with the MMOsite download, but the Filefront multipart download is rolling along.

You need to use a DL manager, that MMO site speed is crap. If you use something like gigaget, it takes less then an hour.

Anyway, the character creation is one of the best I have ever played around with lol....I didn't even get into the game, I just made this hidious mutant looking "thing" that started as a male human. I wish more MMOs had customization like this. Hopefully the game is good. Heck, its free, can't complain to much. Its worth the DL just to get into the character creator.

Same here lol...I ended up with 2 pantera tigrises (or tiger like humanoids if you will) with different head to body mass proportions. I didn't get into the game since I was acutely sleep deprived when I waited for the server to open to even get past char creation.

Need to go somewhere now to go troubleshoot a friend's PC issues so I'll see whether I can get a few things rolling after that.

Well at this point I've only played a Wing Elf Priest to level 5 but I can give my first impressions.

First off as others have stated the character creation is unreal in it's complexity. Only CoX and SWG have anything even close to this and even they aren't quite as good in my opinion. There is no way there will be any 2 characters that look alike in this game with the tools they provide. You can literally change every single aspect of your character's appearance right down to the most minute details.

The help system is very good for first time users even if the translations aren't 100% perfect at this time. I was up and running with a quest and killing mobs in less than 2 minutes just reading the little helper boxes that pop up when something new happens. This was everything from basic movement which is great by the way as they allow you to use both WASD and Point n' Click and both types of movement work really well. The help system also explained in detail how to talk to NPCs, Get quests, Sell items and a whole host of other game play aspects which made the learning curve almost a flat line.

The quests so far have been the standard "delivery boy" and "collection" quests but they do give you some direction as to what mobs to hunt and give you much needed gear, items and gold to get you started. Also the amount of quests available is outstanding for an Asian game. The quest tracker system works really well to keep you updated as to where you are in any given quest. The quests are simple but keep you busy so the first levels at least just glide right by without you even really noticing any grind at all. The only issue I've had so far is some minor translation problems in the quest descriptions but these are mostly just improper grammar use and are not game breaking in any way.

The game play is simple but seems to have an underlying complexity that I can't quite put my finger on at this time. I'm sure it will become clearer as I gain levels and new skills however. The only issue with game play I've noticed so far is about a 1 second delay when you activate a skill. I believe this is due to server latency issues and is really just a minor annoyance so far. The UI is very well laid out and easy to use whether you're a point and clicker, a keyboard user or a combination of the two.

Overall although there are some minor issues as I stated above I'm very impressed with this game and see me playing for some time to come. This is the game that breaks out of the standard "Asian Grindfest" mold and is very enjoyable to play. So far I give it a 9/10 as no game is perfect but this one comes darn close even with it's few short-comings.

Basically i'm restating what the above poster said.

I am always, ALWAYS a healer class - I too went Elf Priest. It was SO hard to choose if I wanted to make a very beautiful mythical gal, or one that was more to resemble me. I made her about three times before I decided on one. The character creation is what this game has the most going for it. It IS another "asian grinding mmorpg", but it has a twist. There is flying for the Elves from the get-go, i'm pretty sure the other races get awesome things as well. I always love the games with increased regen when you are "sitting/resting", makes it so I never really need food in the start. The graphics are unlike any other free MMORPG, period. It's very flashy, sa far as spells and such goes, I hate to put it this way.. but just for relativity to what alot people know, think of it as the WoW of F2P's. As far as grinding, I LOVE it in this game. It just seems to add a touch of fun when you are playing someone that you fixed every single detail on, you have a connection, you don't care how - but you want that character at a higher level to do things with. There are alot of little annoying kids that complain about having to use the mouse to move the camera, which is wierd because that is one of my favorite things about it.. lots of "clickers" I guess. I'm more used to WoW where being a clicker was never a good thing. The translation is pretty off, but it's enough to give you a basic idea of what you need to do. Within a few seconds I was already doing quests. There is crafting, i'm still trying to figure out how it works. Just give this game a try, you won't regret it.

I have to put in my praise for the character creation - it's the only game I've seen that gives SWG a run for the money, and it may even win!  The hairstyles alone are way beyond what most games offer.  The full range of colors is also nice - if you want to be an Oompa Loompa, Andorian, an Orion Slave girl, or Purple Trance, you can.

I'm starting to understand *why* SOE is envious of the Item Shop model, for better or for worse.
