    Group A:
Sandboxers - characterized by their love of Pre-CU SWG.
    and
    Group B:
PVPers - characterized by their love of UO/DAoC

For some reason we don't have a very good showing from the raiders and the PVE lovers on this site.
We see a few here and their.  Mainly the defenders of WoW.

Anyone know why this is?  Has this board always been so heavily visited by Pre-CU SWG fans.
Sign me up for Group C will you?

I prefer quest based games and PvP is just something to do when I'm not exploring the game world.

ITs good to know that there are some posters that don't seem to fall into either group.  Lately it just seems like that is who makes a majority of the posts.  People wanting non linear gameplay and/or full loot pvp.  Or people always throwing the word Carebear around and trying to claim that they are real mmo "vets" because they enjoy hardcore PVP.  I just find it pretty annoying.  That and all the "darkfall is going to save the genre and be the best game ever" type posts are just so annoying.

no one on Darkfall talks like that. You came there preaching how open PVP sucks earning a lot of disrepect for yourself. you claim you love to raid so go raid in WoW and leave the DF forums be.

Yep, pretty much a typical response from the DF fan(atical) crowd...

As you indicate, the raiders and PvEers (often) like WoW. Why would they come on these forums where they are almost constantly insulted by people who can't accept that those who like something else than themselves can possibly have a brain and a life, and be more than 12 years old? ;-P

I like 'PvP with a purpose'. When I hit level 60 on WOW I was looking forward to fighting people in AV,WSG and AB and having 'skilled' (what was I thinking back then...) & exciting battles, despite the instance factor. Sure,I'd have to grind instances for PvE loot but I could chill out and enjoy PvP battles. Turns out the 'PvP' was nothing more but a grindfest in itself on a gear-based advantage system, with no purpose to it whatsoever (especially when you could get better gear via PvE,but since adjusted for TBC).

After that,I started seeking games with more PvP with a purpose and less boring grind to endure. Shadowbane failed,EVE was too boring,UO was dead, etc etc. Nothing out there for me whatsoever.

Until Darkfall. Too bad I'd have to wait for it. So here I am,waiting for a game with player-focused & 'PvP with a purpose' MMORPG. I like well-thought out PvE and don't mind grinding if there's a guild/party/friends to talk to,but at the end of the day I want to explore & go out there and kill people in skillful battles for all their loot.

I've played enough F2P and P2P MMORPG's to know that I'm bored of non-creative PvE 'grindfests'. Perfect World I am currently playing because it's got some interesting PvP concepts!!! That, and the PvE looks ok as does the general 'feel' of the game.

So call me part of crowd G: Ex-WOW & 'grindfest ftw' player turned into a Darkfall & 'PvP with a purpose' follower. Or better still, don't assign me to a fucking crowd.
