This game makes Vanguard the winner of "Most Stable Game at Release" award.
The game itself is simply increadible.
The bugs and crashed makes you think if the developers even bothered to test the game before they released it. It's not just the PC. The Xbox360 game is crashing just as badly. Pretty funny too over at the official forums. 32 people Viewing the General Discussions section but 2349 people Viewing the Technical Discussion forum; before release, the moderators would comment literally every hour or so on the forums.
To date: The moderators havent even made a post since yesterday morning. It's bad.
My recommendation: Good game but wait until next month to buy it.

I think I'm going to buy it from Bittorrent or rapidshare :P
I thought the game was mediocre but never had one crash on the PC version played through the game in 8 hours it was short and never crashed once.

I agree.
Well i played the demo 4 times now ive yet to even see any lag. Could it be your Xbox?

I actually have the PC full retail game.
Apparently, the problem is in the PC and the xbox. What makes the situation worse is the fact that the entire development team is on Vacation for two weeks and there is a post about it in the tech forums (if you can get to the forums....its so busy right now, the website server is crashing too).
There's one guy who isn't on Vacation and he's trying to get Australia 2K sister office to work on a patch. It's pretty bad. Lots of pissed of people and even the PC game sites and rating sites have gotten wind of the whole mess.

Btw guys you can only activate the game twice EVER then your serial number becomes useless...

I've been reading the the PC version runs really smooth. The only problem has been with the widescreen because it's cutting off from the top & bottom. (both PC & x-box versions)

I agree, were I more interested in the game, I too would 'buy' it from another...ahh.. source. Why pay for it when it's got all these problems? That'd be like paying for Dark and Light except more legal... and without getting f*cked in the ass by the company
Yay stealing!
I was thinking the same thing. Don't get me wrong, I used to run the black flag a lot myself until the last few years. Howevver, bragging and boasting about it on forums is pretty daft. Hell, if these nubs who boast about it get tracked and caught I will spray milk out my nose laughing. And that's saying something, i don't drink milk.

"What is it I have against Microsoft, you ask? Well, you know how you feel when you wait for an MMO to come out and when it does you feel like you've paid to play it's beta test for another 6-9 months before anything even thinks of working the way it should? Being a network engineer you feel that way about anything Microsoft puts out."

Nice faulty logic. "The game is so screwed up and crappy that I won't pay for it....but I still want to play it." Someone rolled out the old genius barrel for that one. If you're going to pirate, pirate. Don't sit and justify it. I mean, I could say "Well, I really need the money and the person next to me is really screwed up, so how about I just boot em in the head and take their wallet" with that line of thought.

Now, as to the crashing I've played it for hours on my laptop and desktop computer without a single crash. I had an issue with drivers for the demo for my laptop (namely becaue Nvidia likes to rely on the laptop manufacturers too much for mobile drivers) but that problem was easily recitified with a tweaked .inf file).
My specs are decent, but not massively grand.
Desktop:
Core 2 Duo 6600, 4GB RAM, Vista Home Prem/XP MCE (dual boot), Dual 7950 GX2 (soon to be replaced by 8800s when they get here from FedEx) on a 30" LCD.
Laptop:
Core 2 Duo t7500, 2GB RAM, Vista home Prem, Nvidia 8600m.
Not even the slightest hint of a crash on either machine. I'd reckon it's a massive driver issue since that is a known issue with the game right now. A lot of people went about updating their GFX cards and neglected their sound cards.

Sorry to go a bit off-topic, as I'm not a pirateer of games. But I think my downloading of music is completely justified. If these companies would charge a reasonable price for their albums I'd pay for them. I'm sorry, but $12.99 for a 4-track EP is complete bullshit and we all know it.

Well... having bought about 200-250 games(consoles + PC) I think, I've used my fair share of money in the industry. I can't afford buying all the games I want to try(I'm an avid gamer), so they wouldn't that extra money anyway. Now that's not justifying my actions, that's just saying that I am supporting a lot of developers, and if I weren't under education(University/college level) and low on cash, I probably wouldn't download games
Also, considering the amount of times publishers have released unfinished crap games(CnC3 is unplayable online/lan due to out of synch bug so I'm restricted to Single Player... and I love multiplayer), I honestly believe they sometimes are ones stealing.
So don't insinuate I'm a noob, nor an idiot. I probably give more cash to the industry than most people here, so I don't really feel bad about downloading games I couldn't afford to buy anyway, since I actually have other expenses and not an overabundance of cash. Also, I don't see how saying you're gonna download a game is on par with stealing a car and calling your friends about it.
Thats not enitrely true. A Developer on 2K forums just 3 minutes ago said that was a bug and you can install it multiple times provided you have multiple pcs.

Maybe if you paid for the game they could afford to hold off releasing the next one and could afford to keep it in development into every bug is fixed.I agree, were I more interested in the game, I too would 'buy' it from another...ahh.. source. ok, how about a-hole then? pirating is still stealing something that doesn't belong to you. You can justify it all you want, it's still wrong.

Again I have to call flawed logic. Let me get this straight in laymens terms.
"I want that game but I can't afford it, so I will steal it. Because I can't afford it after having bought other games I am justified in stealing this one."
That sums it up pretty much. Let me put that into a different light.
"I want that Ferrari, but I can't afford it so I will steal it. Because I can't afford it after having bought OTHER cars I am justified in stealing this one."
I won't argue with you about the fact that some companies have released rubbish. So have some directors, actors, musicians, restaraunts, so on and so forth. But you don't steal from someone else because of what your past experiences dictate. No matter who you slice this pie, you are stealing and you are justifying it. If the game is worth you playing it, you should pay for it. Pure and simple. If you downloaded it because there was no demo and you weren't sure if you'd enjoy it (an issue that sucks due to piracy making the ability to "return" open software impossible) I would even be able to stomach that a bit. Downloading it because you didn't like the last game you played, but you REALLY want to play this one...is stupid.
The debate of "Oh, woe is me, my life is so dificult that I can't afford the things I want so I should steal them" is tired and played out. Simple fact of life...are you ready?
YOU DO NOT NEED A VIDEO GAME!
If you were trying to tell me that you were stealing food because some dictator has oppressed you to the point that you and/or your family cannot eat...I'd swallow that a bit. Nonetheless, you would still be stealing. The fact that you've bought 10s of 1000s of dollars worth of games in the past doesn't mean shite. You're boss could say, "Well, considering I've paid you for the last 200-250 hours you've worked, so I am not going to pay you anymore because I feel I have put my fair share of money into your bank account" with that very same logic.
Obviously, you don't "see" how any of my parallels are similar to YOUR case, because you don't think you're doing anything wrong. You've already illustrated that in your last post. I won't infer that you are a "noob" or an "idiot", but I will happily say that you system of justification is idiotic. I am sorry yourfinancial burdens have left upon you the inability to buy the things you want. Welcome to the human rat race. You weren't hurting for money at SOME point if you spent an untold fortune, vastly outweighing your fellow forum goers (which has to be one of the most arrogant assumptions I've heard in a while. One that, frankly, I call bonvine excrement on). It just seems to me that you need to mature a bit a learn a little better how to prioritise your spending.
Call it what you want, justify it how you may, deny it as you will...you are stealing.

Slightly different side of the argument, and one I cannot wholly disagree upon. If we're debating whether or not producers/labels get more than they should I'd side with you on that one. Considering the "distribution cost" of a CD is till $10.25, same as it was in 1993 even though the costs of manufacture have dropped by 1000-3000% since then.
However, saying that the artists don't deserve any money for their contributions is fluff. Yes, the costs of music needs to be re-examined, especially with digital distribution killing half the production costs.
Either way, though, if you downlaod without paying, you're stealing. I am not going to debate if that's right or wrong, but I hate when people deny or justify doing so rather than just saying, "Yup, I know I am stealing and taking money from people."
"What is it I have against Microsoft, you ask? Yep still stealing.

Not according to some advertisements. The "Must have game of the year"
My Xfire says i played Bioshock for 8 hours and completed it in that time and if you take out loading times and me running round picking every item up then probally about 7 hours. A real short game compared to reviewers saying it's 20 hours long :S No and i played it on hard because you respawn in the game and no "real" death.
