i have 3 level 70's

i raid 4 times a week  -  karazhan, temp keep, gruul, mag, SSC etc

but other than raiding there's not much keeping me and in the game and considering i don;t like 1/2 th poeple in the raid comm atm due to them being quite stuck up, it was a good comm about hvaing fun but that has changed alot since TBC and now frankly i am getting seriously bored of the game

i have tried making new charcs but i know al the quests off by heart by now and don't think i'm willing to grind all over again.

pvp as always is not my kind of cookie in the game

anyone know how to refresh my look on the game ?

PvP Arena ladder,  Battlegrounds?  Try another game, Bioshock comes out this week.

Still waiting for your Holy Grail MMORPG? Interesting...

You've hit the end of the line OP..... not much left for you to do.... keep on raiding for better gear until the next expansion comes out (and you'll get to repeat everything you just did for TBC) or make alts of every flavor (but that gets repetitive of course)

You may have to do what I did..... quit playing WOW.   Yes, I know, its hard to accept at first, but you can live w/o WOW.  Lots of really good games out there, I personally landed in EVE and am really enjoying it.

Give something else a try and put WOW on hold for now...at least until the expansion comes out.

Quit.  You're wasting your time and hard earned money to  play the CPU over and over hell at least with Counter-Strike I have fun playing the maps over and over this end game all MMO's have needs to die fast cause it's just not fun.  It's like me trying to play the CPU in Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo makes me want to punch the TV after about 5-10 minutes (well I doubt WoW end game is that tough lawl).  So do yourself a favor play something else and move on it will only help you and other multiplayer games cause World of Warcraft seems to be dominating the gaming scene so badly that it's killing other games player bases.  There will be plenty of games coming this holiday season so don't worry your boredom will end soon enough.

I just returned to WoW after being gone for 4 months. I'm starting over on a new server with some of my older friends. Not much for PvP and I have to many responsibilities IRL from kids and work to put in the time for the raids and really have yet to meet any hard core raiders I can even tolerate talking to for any period of time. Op might want to try LoTRO or see about getting into Tabula Rasa beta.

  • QarkQark Member Posts: 234

I didnt play for 3 months...because of work and lack of interest in wow...i played some other games. Then i loged back on during vacation cause i really didnt want (didnt have will) to start anything new, mostly cause i didnt find it fun. Now after one month im bored again...in one month i got 4 pcs of veteran set, 5000g epix flying mount + 5000g extra with mixing potions n stuff + 375 in fishing :p

    And now...i dont know :)

    W8ting for tabula rasa

If you don't like pvp and are only interested in pve then I think it's time to take a break for a month or so. At those levels you can faction grind for gear (which you probably don't want or need to do since you raid), raid, or just run around helping others. So, I suggest you try some other games, maybe some console games, while you wait for that urge again.

In the end, logic and reason always beat out fanboys.

Have you try playing the other fraction? Ive hit 70 with my orc war and now still doing quest in BEM. But ive just created a new ally toon since ive never play an ally before, well not over lvl 19. Perhaps you can also try out different server like from pve to pvp  or different crafting system etc...

But if all this still dont work than like what the above posts says, quit. take a break till the next mmo or the next x-pac is out.

Reading your post OP feels like I wrote it right when TBC came out, I was in the same shoes, before TBC came out, was on the top guild, always got server firsts had Nax and all the other instances on farm status, I had 3 60s, and felt exactly like you do now. TBC came out I leveled to 70 on my main and quit playing, I never even did any of the lvl 70 instances but OH and Blood Furnace (which is a low 60s instance).

What I did was quit playing, I didn't want to pay for something I wasnt playing, it was hard but the more time went by the better I felt until finally I started doing more stuff with my RL. I got back to WoW recently and leveled my Mage from 60 to 70 and am having fun playing the mage, alot of the instances are new to me and I havent done any of the lvl 70 raids and I don't care much about them tbh however I do want to try Karazhan.

I recommend you stop playing for a while, take a break, and start playing again when you want to, atm it sounds like you don't want to and are tired of everything, that happens with everything only thing I recommend doing is take a break, try something different even though playing another mmo made me miss wow and got back into it 10 months later lol.

Another thing that works too is if you make an alt on the opposing faction, theres alot of different quests/rewards and towns for you to explore, and it is quite fun.

Only thing I can think of is try another faction.  If you are Horde, play Alliance or vice versa.  If you've done that too, well then I'm out of suggestions.

    quit

This happens to a lot of WoW players.  The only options are:

    • reroll
    • pvp
    • Raid or Die
  • KyoichiKyoichi Member Posts: 23

Well.. i guess it's time for you to quit WoW

    Try other game perhaps? :)

Take a break. Play something else, or nothing at all. I don't really enjoy anything that is out, but WoW for now.

I'm still enjoying the game, but I have been in your shoes many times. A nice break always helps if the game is good.

  • Sovren1Sovren1 Member Posts: 312

I agree with most of the post here.

Quit, re-roll/ different faction, Do some pvp, or help guildies.

I just came back to WoW after a very long time and I am on a RPPVP sever. It seems fresh to me me being a BE. Fresh to me being Horde for that matter. But the MMO genre burnt me out once or twice. I've learned from that by playing other genres of video games. I actually now split my time between consoles and pc shooters. Well, BF2142 for awhile now. Found a server where most of it is made up of regulars who make up some of the best in the world(stat wise, all Brigadier Generals in the top 20,000) which is actually exciting to play. I'm in the top 33 for knife kills man(not actual kills, but special dog tags collected, too many knife only stat padding servers out there where special dog tags among high ranking players are never found).

Case in point, you write your own book.

bored with raiding so you should try...

    1) grind bg's and arena for yet more gear(of course)

    when bored with that

    2) roll an alt to max level

    when bored with that

    3) roll an alt, twink it for low level bg

    when bored with that

    4) roll other faction and play it for awhile and/or change severs.

    when bored with that

    5) go back to raiding and/or play with a different spec.

    when bored with that

Repeat steps 1 - 5 until you realize you are in an infinite loop of gear grinding and low level toon twinking for bg and then you have a sudden awakening and ask yourself "What the hell am I doing this for?" You will soon exit the infinite loop of carrot chasing. Congragulations, you are free!

Playing MMORPGs for 3 years now and I still cant understand why people do Raids 2 or 3 times a week. This looks like a job. It doesnt look like a fun thing. The best you can do is playing another game. Not only with WoW, with every game you play. You get bored, you quit, just that.

Hmm, why you can't understand and why it feels like a job: Because it's not fun for you and you equate it as a job. You don't have to do these things. The people who do probably think it's fun and don't think of it as a job. That's kind of a duh answer, but DUHHH!

Finally, aren't most games kinda dry endgame. Beyond pvp, raids, dungeons , title hunting, item hunting, skill hunting, quest finishing, helping guildies...what is there? Not much else comes to mind. You've already exp the bulk of the game in lvl progression. Endgame doesn't have many choices. You could always fish.
