I need a group oriented MMO.

My very first MMO was FF11 and I played for about 1 1/2 year. Since quiting Ive tried RFO, L2 (private server), LOTRO, WoW and Vanguard. For some reason I cant seem to get the same enjoyable experience I got with FF and Im starting to believe its b/c these games dont force you to group. Im not whining or anything but thats the type of gamer I am. I want a game that has good beginning content, still has tons of people playing, and has you out working with other people yet at the same time not feel like a chore. Constantly being in a group helps the grind fly by IMO. When soloing it just seems like a drag. Anyways whether its free, pay to play, sci fi, fantasy, doesnt matter I just need me a good game thats fits me. Thanks in advance.

Have you looked at EVE online?

The game system is oriented massively at team work, as teams of players can carve vast out empires out tracts of lawless space. EVE can of course be played solo, but i believe you probably get most out of the game fighting in groups against other players, and for things that matter. In EVE, when your ship is destroyed, it dissappears, meaning that combat matters, and is not meaningless.

EVE can be hard work, but it can also be extremely fun. The game becomes much more fun later on as your skills get better, but even in the beguining, if you play and understand the game, it will be enjoyable from the word go.

If FF 11 was really your first MMORPG, you'll have a problem finding a MMORPG that's better. It's like a virus, the first MMORPG you play is always the best, and no one can fit that one. There are some MMORPG's out there that can really be fun though. You should try some of them and I'm sure one of them will be right. Game that got me off my fever was Shot Online. www.shot-online.com. You can try that one if you like. I'm not a golfing addict at all, and not a nerd either. I do like this game though, you should really try it! And if you do, make sure to add me: Marlonn.

If this isn't your game, good luck on your search.

Its not out yet, but Warhammer Age of Reckoning is built around groups. The stuff Mythic has added for guilds (guild ranking etc) has a lot of people excited right now and posting like mad about it.

You may also want to try EQ2. Tons of content, new starting areas and its easy to switch between group and solo play.

I prefer solo gameplay, but I enjoy grouping in EQ 2 so much that I perhaps do it about 80% of the time.  You have many group (heroic) Quests and many and varied dungeons.

I am reluctant to recommend games, but I would give this one your serious consideration.

Good luck on whatever game you select!

All games are a drag until they mean something to you.  If I were you, and I'm not, I'd look at up coming games; find a game that excites me and take a break from the online world so when I came back it's exciting again.  Although, everyone is different

Yeah the first MMO you play will always have a special memory for you, best advice is to try and not compare all games to that memory.

I suggest trying out DDO & COH.  Both are fast paced and very very group friendly games.  Not too serious and not good if you are looking for something to play 12 hours a day.

L2 official, at higher levels it 's impossible to solo. Well it's possible, but quite stupid cause grouping goes much faster (as for xp), and it 's much more fun. I don't know what rates you played at? If above 20x, I 'd say L2 is a suggestion, just take a trial with a couple of friends and see how you like it.

EQ2 perhaps. EQ kind of had a past of forced grouping but its aged, the playerbase is all high level and raiding is perhaps the main reason people player now.
