That ad with "first life" office manager, "second life" evil genius. Yeah, right. Like anyone plays that game. It annoys me when a game ad is slicker than the actual game (in terms of graphics). UO has that problem too. "Please people, get the game up to the point where it looks as good as what's on the box. Thank you."

Damn, that game, not only do the graphics suck but it crashes every 5 minutes. I took AO off to play it and it still was crashing less than 5 minutes, that game really needs a good server before it does anything else. I deleted it within 10 minutes of gameplay.

heh yea, thats starting to get old atleast for me, i go to these gaming webpages and you see a nice banner and click it, next thing you find out is its some cheesy TEXT based game. or games without even having a screenshot.

1 thing id like to see at mmorpg.com is a TEXT based mmorpg area, i hate when people post FREE new MMORPG and you go read it then go to the site and its some damn text based garbage. weeding between new mmorpgs and these text based onse annoys me. if its a new mmorpg atleast have 2d graphics to post here, but maby thats not what this site wants, but i really hate how the mpogd.com site is layed out you end up having 80 to 1 text based games to graphic games, so trying to find anything with a bit of quality sucks.

also what happened to the mmorpg FREE list. malkavien closed it and said it will be updated, its been closed for about 3 weeks or more?? Im not a leecher/freebie by any means i own every mmorpg out there but i still like to check out the freebies and see what new people have came up with. Iether update the list or unlock the thread it was reaching over 45,000 VIEWS!

heh nobody plays ac2, ac was good, at a time where there wasn't buff bots and you really had to run to eastham from rithwic, got some standard yoroi armor and thought you were great, damn it i can feel it now running through forest from holtburg to some place i don2t recall now but the road was hard but i liked it, i felt like i was there , had to go there to buy caudrons

Holy shmoley, when you start bitching about ads, it's really getting bad.

Second Life is most definitely a niche game, but it is certainly holding its own and its population is steadily growing. CNN recently did a piece on it and the virtual real estate market within the game. That's more than can be said about most MMOGs. While it may not be hosting 30,000 players on 17 servers, it appears to be meeting its goals. As I see games like E&B, Mythica and Warhammer Online fold, I have great respect for smaller games that are surviving.

Maybe "no one" is playing Second Life (as you define it), but if that's true, then why would you begrudge them advertising?

I personally am rooting for all the smaller games. If all we had were behemoth games like EQ or DAoC, then we'd REALLY be hearing complaints on the boards.

Yeah i really want second life to do well. I was never criticizing the game at all. I just thought the ad was a little cheezy "first life: office manager , second life: Echo Omega" Yeah, like someone that hot would be playing Second Life .

Anyways, generally this is the best idea ever. Being able to do anything in the game. And a company so small, that took a huge risk in their game, I greatly respect. Companies like SOE will never dare to take a stab at a game like that, no matter how much money they have.

Good job Second Life. I'd maybe pick up this game later when a bit of the controls are smoothed out and stuff.
