I have 2 lvl 70's in wow, a lvl 40 in vangaurd, a lvl 79 in flyff, and a lvl 44 in space cowboy...yet i still play this game.
Yes it got bugs, but are being fixed constantly. a LOT of events, so far in the last 2 weeks iv been playing they have had 4 with prizes.
alot of the time they have double xp because of holidays (which is nice for leveling up)
The only problem i would have to say is that the characters and class's are a minimum.
Other then that a very very very fun game.

Emo: Kids who want to be different and individual, so they reform to the "Emo" persona. Just like every body else.
this game is sirrously patheatic!
Either way, it'll get extremely repetitive and boring.
I disagree. I am now a level 38 Ranger and I can fight with both land and sea monsters. And, I never had to grind so far. I always did quests and that gave me exp enough to level. It is much fun doing all the quests, fighting with monsters, sea trades, exploring, treasure hunting, mining, etc. I think this game is great.
If you think this game is repetitive and boring, name what game you think is not repetitive and not boring, because I have yet to find an MMORPG that doesn't have some repetition.

I'm not saying MMORPGs with repetition is bad, I'm just saying MMORPGs with too much are horrible.
Take WoW for example, why does it have over 8 million monthly subscribers?
Because they have PvP events like raids, capture the flag, etc.
They also have many other events that do not consist of running back and forth in a ship to make trades so you can earn a small amount of money like in ToP/PKO.
And for the record, I'm a level 57 Crusader. You'll get bored of it soon enough when you hit level 50+ since quests will give very little EXP and a very unreasonable amount of gold.
Have fun grinding.
Let me address two things in your statement using the same example you used, WoW:
1. Very little EXP: Some people say MMORPGs which gives you a good amount of exp is better. But, what is exp? It is just a number and it is all relative to any given MMORPG. If you get 100k exp in WoW within an hour and if you get 10k exp in Top within an hour, you cannot say WoW is 10 times better than Top. Think about it, the number of experience points is only relative to the MMORPG you play. If it takes 100k to get from level 39 to 40 in WoW, may be it only takes 10k exp to get from level 39 to 40 in Top and may be some other number in another game.
Now if you can understand that, next try to grasp the concept that even levels are also relative. A level 40 in WoW may not be the same as a level 40 in Top. So, you cannot really compare how long it takes to get level 40 in WoW against the same in Top or in any other game for that matter. So, it doesn't mean anything to say that WoW is better than Top, just because it takes less time to achieve a particular level.
You may say, a better MMORPG is a game which takes less time to get to the top. But, you have forgotten what an MMORPG means, or simple is not aware of. An MMORPG is a role-playing game. The game is supposed to be fun at any given level. Levels are not supposed to be goals, but only a reward. If you are trying to get to the highest level as soon as possible, you are inevitably skipping the fun part of the game. It is an awareness issue. Try not to think of getting to the highest level, but just enjoy the contents in the game. You will feel a big difference.
In my opinion what makes a good MMORPG is this:
2. unreasonable amount of gold
Again, this is all relative. If you understood what I said above, you will see how naive to think about an "unreasonable amount of gold".
Next, I will tell you why WoW has over 8 million.
First, 8 million is not all USA accounts. In USA, there are only between 800k and 1m accounts. In China and other eastern countries, you can create a WoW account for free. Their payment options are different from North american or European payment options. Therefore, whatever free accounts get created counts towards that 8 million.
A game like Top also has a lot of accounts if you consider it at the global level. China, Korea, etc. I am sure number of accounts in Top is definitely in the millions, may be not as much as WoW, but it still is a lot.
Next, the reason why 8 million play WoW is because most of them have heard of no other game. Most of these players are long time Blizzard fans. I myself is a Blizzard fan from Warcraft: Orcs and Humans. I have played every single game which they have released including WoW. And I am also looking forward to StarCraft II; which I am sure is going to be a blast. However, they didnot make a good job with WoW in my opinion. That is why I don't like it, and I don't play it.
For grinding, all I have to say is:
I have never ever grinded in a game. Grinding is not fun for me, and I don't play, if it is not fun. I just enjoy the game as long as it is fun. If at any point, I find a game not fun, or need to grind, I simply quit. I did that to many games, but I have to say I have enjoyed every one of them at the beginning including WoW. Currently, I am enjoying Top with a level 38 Ranger, and I have not yet felt it is boring or it is necessary to grind. If that happens, I would move to a different game or may be start a new character. But, almost all games are like that; don't you agree?

Sorry, I don't have enough time nor patience to read that lol.
But I have, however, read your "highlighted" phrases.
Levels aren't suppose to be goals? Please. In many MMORPGs, players often set goals for themselves regarding levels. You've never grinded in a game? Then you must be really low leveled and low ranked in every game. It's true; every MMORPG involves grinding as a road to success, but some games just rely too much on the players' patience.
Also, you're trying to make it sound like I'm comparing WoW to ToP/PKO in terms of numeric values; that's just retarded. I'm not dumb enough to think that 100k in WoW is 100k in any other game as well as levels. And in terms of quests giving little exp - it's true. I count by percentage, not a certain value; it's still an insignificant amount.
I stand by my final statement, this game is repetitive, boring, and you're just wasting your life playing it for long periods of time and writing a whole essay (that's you!) to defend the game.
Now you can write whatever reply, but I'm not going to waste anymore time on you, sorry.Do What??? You've never grind?
1. It is vital that you grind to reach the lvl to do vertain quests...not all quest will make you up to lvl for the next quest.
2. Grinding is a great way to make $ and mabye find decent gear to use for yourself or sell.
3. When you grind you may find other people to party with and make the game more enjoyable.
*sigh* WoW will make you grind sooner or later the game gets old after a while...
