Grinded major quests 670 times till i puked. God aweful game ever. Im sorry i even paid money for this game. I should have known better. Basically you just grind quests over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over...i think my mind's going insane from playing the quests. Thats all you do all day logging into DDO. You just GRIND QUESTS grind and grind and grind gosh i must have done each quests 780 times. I still GRIND. Im going nuts seeing the same quests every day. ITS AWEFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I quickly deleted my high level characters and canceld the sub before the free month trial is up.
Yes that bad. I swear I will not touch this quest grind ever again, until hell freezes over.

I'm just getting started in DDO and do not intend to play it "hard core" like most of the grind MMO's out there want you to do. If you have the time & interest to grind quests that many times in a month then WoW, EQ2, VG are more your speed. I am playing this game to play with friends 3-4 nights a week for a few hours at a time.
This MMO is different from the others.. and from what you are saying this probably is not the one for your time and play style.
"Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it isn't any good"
This game is horrible HORRIBLE YOU HEAR ME? I POURED OIL ON THE GAME AND LIT the fire on it!!!!!! IF I SEE ANOTHER stormreaver again I'll I'll go nuts.
You must of played it religiously like a WOW hard core player plays wow...no offense but DDO isn't made for that sort of play style. I dont think I've ever had to repeat a quest in DDO. I guess if you manage to reach max level in 30 days or less you could repeat it. But repeat that much? pft. DDO is a more casual friendly game PVE quest game. Its not a quest 'grind' it sjust a quest game like omg the real D&D is, just there's alot more smaller quests.
I think its incredibly funny when people go out and buy a game with no idea of what kind of play style the game has then yell and cry because you wasted your money on it. All you'd have to do is read forum boards, game articles and the game's website itself and you'd probably figured out that you wouldn't like DDO from the start. Its really not that hard if you have any reading & comprehension skills to figure this stuff out.
I liked DDO when I played it, it just didn't keep my interest enough to stick with it, if your looking for something to do in your spare time DDO is perfect. If your looking for a long winded overly bloated gotta play all the time to keep up hardcore raid & pvp competitive type game your better off looking elsewhere.
Please Refer to Doom Cat with all conspiracies & evil corporation complaints. He'll give you the simple explination of..WE"RE ALL DOOMED!
I played DDO from release and about 6 months after. It was really fun. But I also got so tired of the same quest over and over. And i didnt feel like it was real MMO. You couldent go anywhere you wanted, no crafters, no real character creation...... And comming from SWG, that was a pain in the ass.
It felt more like a instanced PvE multiplayer game.
but, the newest release is very good
it is also worth its price based on the amount of entertainment that you receive from it
i like the game, & will simply describe it as "the game that sucks less than the rest"
peace
There is plenty to do in this game that you do not have to repeat the quest if you do not want to do. People just repeat them because of the loot or exp when doing them on elite. Same thing you do in EQ2 when you're max level and do the same instances night after night. Same with COH/COV where pretty much every mission is the same.
Sorry you did not like the game, but from your past posts in other game forums you do not like a lot of games currently out. Maybe you'll find something down the road.

I ask for Vanguarde to "promiss" to never return again inorder to insure that DDO's community remains supberb. Then, we couldn't expect him to tell the truth now can we?
DDO is the best online gaming experiance currently on the market.
Have to agree with op here, I played ddo from start and cancelled a month later when i did all the quest t nauseum. I dont mean only the loot ones, I mean every quest, from easy to hard.
I then came back when they raised cap to 12, got my lvl 12 did the new quests and quickyl saw that my favor was already capped, i cancelled again.
Then this new module comes out, I used my char slot with extra stat points (favor reward) and have been able to get to lvl 12 and complete all quests on at LEAST medium difficulty, and all that in 2 weeks of playing SUPER CASUAL.
DDO is a fun game, just dont expect a whole lot if your an D&D PnP fan (like i am), and don't expect a lot of freedom. Fun game for a month or two, worth the initial box price, not the monthly though.
I can't understand why they don't take guildwars concept on this game
with no monthly fee but you have to pay for the expansions instead,
then I'd play it.
do not listen to this nonsense, there is plenty to do in DDO that justifies a monthly fee of $14.99 per month as Turbine is adding new content every few months
"I cherish the memories of a question my grandson asked me the other day when he said..Grandpa, were you a hero in the war?...No, but i served in a company of heroes"

It's so funny that people will pay $30-$60 for console or single player video game with maybe 20-40 hours of gameplay -- but they whine and complain when they pay $30 for game that "only lasts a month", but often much longer, and adds content periodically.
You spent $30. You were entertained for a month. If a month of entertainment isn't worth $30 to you, find another hobby.
then again, i don't play to get to high level asap.
so if it doesn't suit your playstyle, then don't play it. if you only know grind, then i recommend any asian mmo. then again, you don't like to grind.... so maybe no mmo at all?
I think the OP is full of it, I don't belive that you can level cap 2 characters under 30 days. I want to know how many hours he was plugged in. And why he was putting that many hours in if he didn't like it. There is no one holding a gun to your head saying that you have to play or have to grind the same quest over and over. If you have a problem with the lack of content in the game, then you should turn the computer off and go interact with the real world.
I tried DDO for one week and i loved the controls. Actually the best controls I have ever used yet. But from what I have seen the Gameplay could be compared to Guildwars and GW is free.

hence this was my 4th char i wasnt gonna bring him to 14 is it wasnt neccesary. Anyways yes 2 weeks casual play (1 maybe 2 hours a day, sometimes couldnt caus eof work, maybe 8 hours total over the whole weekend)
Listne the game is very very fun, BUT there is not enough content to keep you there for a long term commitment. Unless you wanna go ahead and try to get the best vorpals or something, go ahead, but the game does end at a point. The monthly fee is worth it, but youll end up finishing what the game has to offer before the 1 month trial ends =/
Anyways play it and have fun with it, just dont expect more then a month, maybe 2-3 if your relatively new to mmos, of fun and excitment.
This is the problem that game companies have. Players scream for something different, game companies create something different (based on different rules) and then players scream they don't like it.
As far as the whole mana thing, it can't regen because that is not the D&D system.
However, you hit the nail on the head. So many people wanted a D&D world but only wrapping a standard MMO world.
Quite frankly, I think they did a very good job. I don't play the game because I felt the setting was a bit too cutesey and I hate "Island" settings. What they should have done is give the players tools to create their own modules (like Ryzom). Of course the items would not be usable in the main game but if a DM wanted to create an online version of his/her campaign, they would be able to.

I can understand what you're saying. DDO was my very first exposure to anything D&D's. I like the world. I Liked the classes but i think if you didnt come from a background of knowledge of D&D then you felt lost, at least I did. Also due to having small children and only being able to play at night(usually late) I couldnt use the builtin voice chat because Id end up waking the brats up and then Neither me or my wife would get sleep the rest of that night! lol I was actually tossed out of groups on several occasions when i told them i couldnt use Vchat. This is the problem that game companies have. As an FYI, I catagorically refuse to use Voice Chat. I also tend to always have a clan of relaxed players so it never really matters.
Quite frankly, the few times I was on voice chat, it completley ruined gamplay. Bad sound, nothing of any relevance to say, just people talking over each other.
