How do you feel about reporting others?

How do you feel about reporting others for things that they have said/done in these forums?  Personally I'm not a fan of reporting people, and to my recollection, have only done it one time in a very extreme circumstance. 

I feel like if you're going to spend time in an off topic forum that you should be at least somewhat prepared for the hijinks and sometimes racy content of the posts.  I mean come on, the off topic forum says "enter at your own risk"  well, it's not really entering at your own risk because anything that anyone deems to be hijacking, or slightly offensive can and will be deleted if someone chooses to report it.

So the question at hand:  Do you report others?  What kind of things do you feel should be reported?  What kind of things do you think should merit post deletion and bans?

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

    I think people who report others are spineless.

    Who are they to censor others opinions?

    One thing that I've noticed on this website is that if you disagree with liberal views, you can expect a ban.

    Another example of my rights being chipped away.

    woot I'm spineless for reporting a referal link here and there,  and the 15'th new thread involving a DR invite(when theres already 3 extremely established ones).

    I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

    Never had something I felt the need to report. It takes a bunch to shock me. Not to mention the fact that by the time I get to the spam, its already gone.

    Yes because theese forums are so full with trolls and nonsense posters.



    People goin' into gaming threads saying stuff like "This sucks" or "Game X is better" I always report right away. And I also do if people start discussing things way off topic in my posts since I hate that too.



    It's really not that hard to behave properly in theese forums. Not at all. I've been nailed once but I deserved it. I said - in the SWG current forum - something like:

    "The only shot this game deserves is from a shotgun, to it's cranium, at point blank range". As a reply to someone who wanted to give SWG "another shot".



    Clearly I just thought it was a funny comment that was meant to be more like a joke as a stereotypic comment from a vet's perspective. But things didn't turn out that way at all xD

    Ive reported about 3 or 4 people over my time here. 2 of them were currency selling adverts, the others were just ignorant people that pissed me off.

    On the other hand, ive been reported like 5 times.

    Well i think reporting someone is a good thing especially if someone trolled you and claeed you a F*G several times in a row just because you asked him to post something relivent. [worst bit was tho is he started posting in other threads alluding i called him G*Y and advising everyone to send me spam E-mails in my inbox  ].

     

    Now that is a good reason to report someone.

    I only really report spammers...I hate it when a post that is racy gets deleted because I can't exactly watch every body rip it to shreds...

    I hope some day we can all put aside our racisms and prejudices and just laugh at people

    I dont report people because well... the forum description says "Enter at your own risk," so if you stumble across anything in here that offends you... you deserve it.

    If they did something wrong, the mods would deal with it.  It's their job, not mine.

    Agreed. My favorite is a couple of jerks in the EQ 2 forum that start a flame war with anyone that criticizes the game, then report them. It's using the system to shut down critiicism. Lame, really lame.

    The only report I have done, was to get a really valuable thread stickied.  It was stickied.

    I'd rather say, don't respond AND clean up the mess. The ultimate form of ignorance is their posts being removed. THAT pisses them off even more. Even you and modjoe86 seem pretty pissed right now.

    I think I reported a spammer once. Beyond that no I don't report anyone because I'm not some prepubescent girl who runs off to blubber to an authority every time someone says something I don't like.
