Great forum mmorpg

I have to say that this forum is great

It gives you the freedom to speak your minds as long as you don't cross the line .

I like that the mods here are neutral and do not kiss MA @ss for PR

For those who don't know yet , one of the players from Entropia Universe , bought the forum dedicated solely to this game. He is a rich person in real life , member of  #1 society in top 50 best societies. So he as moderator and admin have access to all inbox accounts and he can check your private messages sent/received  by you or to you .

So he have access to 12 283 private members and their private messages , now how confortable you would feel knowing that your messages are not anymore so private because the admin it is not a neutral person but it is someone who will loot you one day or add you on his KoS list (Kill On Sight) just because you wrote a message to your friend in forum ,about him or his society?

And you have 37 rules you have to respects otherwise .............

Here you can read them and decide if this is something you wanna be part of , a forum where your freedom of speech it is censored

Yes this home page is great for accessing many different games and get some first time knowledge about them I agree. Perhaps not this forum since a few lacks intrest that in a honest way tell the ones who ask what the game is about...

EF is also great no matter personal opions about the set rules of the forum, or opions about the owner. MB was also a private player who owned ef as well as Neomaven is. For new players EF is the place.

Most forums are run that way and have different set of rules. Its play by the rules or go away that is the way. EF is more moderated than some and less than other. I would think the basic rules here are similar to the ones on EF acctually if u behave like a ass, bye bye. U wont get kicked for breaking any of thew ef silly rules like the one about not mentioning any other games... Try to think about a forum as a classroom and u are the student. That way u might understand.

Well, If it's the company who releases a forum, you can comment that.

If it's a player from the game who hosts a forum, you comment that.

What you want? That someone who doesn't know Entropia set-up a forum for it so it is 'independent' ?

There are worso thing than death,... I can do all of them.

It's the way life works. I can start a forum, and declare one of the rules is I get your wife every second Saturday. If you agree, it's on you. If you don't, you leave. It's simple, really. The one who operates the forum makes the rules. If you feel the forum is not for you, or is not pertaining to what you would want to know, go to another one. If there isn't one, make one. Set the rules the way you want 'em and spread the word. Who knows, maybe you can do better.

I'm not a member of EF, haven't even heard of it 'til now. I only responded to the OP's complaint of not liking the way the site was run. As for when I played, I have tried it out from time to time, but never got into it. Sweating is not my idea of fun, and as I've stated before, I don't use real money for ANY game, other than to pay a monthly subscription.

    Hi Zorvan,

I was asking you the question because when you play EU and are a member in a top 10 best societies in game then the things complicate a little. Top 10 best societies in game , most of the times are rivals fighting in LG (Land Grab an event in which societies fight against each other to defend and win a land area for 6 months) .

#1 in top 10 best societies owns the forum so basicaly you can not have a privatete message with your friend or someone else from your society in the private forum area , planing strategies for the next event. There is no privacy anymore , now you see my point?

I do see your point. Which is why, as I suggested to to you, perhaps starting another forum independently would be the best course of action. Somewhere where players can go for questions and all the things you are not being allowed on EF. If you run the forum, then there is no conflict with everyone's different factions or whatever, because you are running the forum no matter what.As long as you are impartial yourself, I would say you may be able to get more people coming to your forum than EF's.. That's my point.

There are several other forums, hundreds I think acctually.

The thing is EF is the most visited (between 150-250 users online any time) and have a high number of members (aprox 12k).  Its also has a setup similar to the game it self, with a rep systerm, reporters etc. They also have made a rule system wich is quite hard. The explanation to why they made it this way was that they wanted to have a forum for the eu players. There is zero tolerance against posts that slander ma staff, eu-players or forum staff wich half of the deleted posts is about. Not allowed to mention other games. Hmm dont get that one but it doesnt bother me much, for other games I visit other forums but sometime u want to compare and then it gets complicated. Well the forum is very popular at least and the majority doesnt have a problem with it since the forum fills a purpose. EU only.

Hmm and in the same soc as the owner of the forum owner is, is also the place of one of the most respected posters of the forum. But also the poster who is famous for his MA bashing post...

    Speculating a little here:

Many of the banned ppl who get banned from ef is it of a good reason as I see it. They play eu for years but never interact with the forum community. Not until they get pissed of some reason and decide to quit. May it be for whatever reason. Then they go to the forum, make a account and write a angry posts without even cheking the rules. First they get warned or parts of their post get modified. They write a angryresponse to the modifying and continue to disrespect the rules. Then they get banned.

Here are a few other forums for eu community

    http://www.eu-chronicle.com/           150ish members

http://e-pec.info/forum/index.php       332 members and very active forum

http://entropia-pioneers.kicks-ass.org/phpBB2/               16k users but not as active as ef.

http://account.entropiauniverse.com/pe/en/rich/5348.html                   Just continue to click more community sites and a whole bunch will appear.

Edited because some info was wrong and I had some time over to write a little.

Ohh please, if u belong to a top 10 soc u have a own homepage. If not send ur pm through another forum. There also exist other versions like msn, mail and even ingame soc chatt and pm system.

U dont like EF I get it, some of my friends feel the same way and they solved it by, staying away, creating a own forum.

Just to let you know, there is also another great forum for EU.

It's e-pec.info.  It has freedom of speech with almost no moderation.  Everyone seems to be very mature, flaming is kep to a minimum and criticism is very constructive.  All in all, I think it's the ideal forum for EU.

Actually something strange happened to a good RL friend on Entropia Forum after the infamous rubber banding VU. Although EF is a "private" run forum, somehow my friend was banned both from the forum, and also banned in game for speaking out on the forum about the "Alphageek" affair.

In game he had broken no section of the EULA - yet was banned for comments on a supposedly "private forum", and yes he is still locked. I would advise any new players to be very wary of voicing opinions on EF due to this occurance - it;'s better to just read and not post.

This being said, this was under the previous owner of EF (Mindbuster), who is still a moderator on the forum.
