Yea i belive the whole walking in stations thing is basically there to help bring about the palnetry side of things by ironing out some of the bugs involved before it gets large scale.

It definitely would be awesome and would add a lot of depth and immersion to the game. Heck! Strategical warfare on multiple levels and scaling at the same time. This would blow my mind away

Good luck finding people in a station. It's hard enough finding people in the vast expanse of space as is, which is why people camp at the gates in chokepoints.
