Sigil Games Online has posted an interview with Senior Programmer Amanda Poe regarding their upcoming game Vanguard: Saga of Heroes.
What's it like to be a female game programmer in a predominately male profession? It's very rare that I notice it, to be honest. I think that I occasionally need to work a little harder up front, because most programmers just aren't used to working with women, but I have never felt that anyone consciously treated me differently than a male co-worker.
Of course, I grew up a tomboy, so I've spent most of my life doing male dominated activities.

It is very nice that Sigil allowed an interview to be conducted in this fashion. The questions were sent in by players from a link on the offical websites.

To allow the open public a chance to ask whatever is on thier minds of a lead programer is very nice indeed.
That is pretty cool. Sigil has been impressing me quite a bit lately... they have a lot of talent there, can't wait for the game.
