Isn't this like any other mmorpg where some dungeons get overlooked ... not really, there are some that are more popular but the biggest issue still, almost a year from launch is that the game is content lite. It has added about 50% extra content (numbers vary a bit but I think I am on the high side :) but 50% of almost nothing remains not a lot.

Is it to late to start, will I have been left behind. Oh no this isn't a problem either. The level cap originally was 10 and people were hitting that in the 3 day pre-order period. Ok Joe Average took maybe 2 weeks to hit max and the level cap has now been increased to 12 but it still isn't very hard to reach.

The early problem of having done all the content in hitting max level and then having excatly the same content to do again has also been quote addressed unquote by randomising the dungeons. I am not convinced but I suppose you can now say there is unlimited content - except no one is because it is still 'the same' content sort of.

    And it's all instanced.

And I would not call it DDO either - they have bastardised the ruleset - that is my opinion by the way.

Many of the issues plaguing other games were not an issue for DDO. Graphics, fine. Launch, fine. Lag not an issue. The big issue was that there was nothing there. It was like trying to find fault with a furnished apartment after renting an unfurnished apartment. You couldn't. Nearly a year on there are some curtains and the door has had a lick of paint but its still basically an unfurnished flat.

    Try the trial.

Speaking of experience... You have to get something like 5000 experience to get to level 2. Then its something like 18000 to get to level 3. LEVEL THREE?! The experience requirements are CLEARLY listed in the PHB, coming in at 1000 experience for level 2, and 3000 experience for level 3.

    Screw DDO.

The XP thing I get.   In PnP DnD, setting everything up takes a while, getting through a single quest can take days.  In game that translates to minutes.  So the XP numbers don't match... not a big deal.

The rest of your post I tend to agree with.  Warforged all over the place, lack of RP, bleh.

However, the game itself is pretty nice.  Having a built in Teamspeak'ish chat is nice, but people count on it, rather try to force it, on other players.

What made me cancel was the dev team not being able to make a decision and stick to it.  Many patches of "we're raising the level cap" and not raising it, making my lvl 10 cleric awfully boring, coupled with "we're not looking into PvP" changing to "we're looking into PvP."  That made me feel like I was back in SWG, so I pulled the plug.

It's a shame.  I had quite a bit of fun getting to lvl 10 on two toons.

I'm not sure what you said, but I do know that I didn't speak ill-about the game, but rather identify the pros and cons. If you look at the pros and cons of the game, the game is almost medicore. I came back for the time being because Vanguard is worse than DDO. I had such high hopes for the game, I guess I'll go try out that WoW trial and see what that game is like.
Good, perhaps you can remove yourself to those forums as well!

Can i ask why you are getting so angry? Games. Thats what we're discussing. In fact it's DDO, a GAME, not your real life. Don't get so angry that not everyone agrees with you. Different opinions for different people. And to hope he leaves the forums because you get mad that he doesn't like your games is well...childish. Maybe your posts aren't in '1337 speak' or have grammatical and spelling errors, but you are one of the more immature ones just because of your attitude. Maybe if you weren't so emotionally attached to your video games and computer you could socialize and realize you can have friends. Yes you, the old pc hermit who snaps at anyone who expresses their opinion thats different from yours. Look in the mirror, Hitler.

You would have to know Lastera's posting history to get the full picture.   Eroneous statement after Eroneous statement caused the poster to lose credibility with anyone with any knowledge of how DDO actually works and plays.   DDO does have flaws like any MMORPG out today but its important to have some sort of factual accuracy when pointing them out.

I've been playing this game since the begining.  It has problems but overall the good outweights the bad because the "GOOD" is very good.  I think the biggest problems people have with this game is that MMORPG players have been playing the same games for so long that they expect all new games to come from the same mold.  All of the following are not in DDO: housing, huge raids, boring camping, boring crafting, wasted time traveling in game, giant empty open areas, real PvP   OF course you can see where my opinion is here.

DDO did many things very differently and many people can't get over this.

This game gets tons of crap because it is so different.  They tried to do something very different and I like it.  Do we really want every MMORPG that comes along to be just another version of the same game?

Joker you hit the nail on the head, full on. This game has a lot of good and some bad, but that is life. Do not forget the built in voice chat that helps with groups, that is nice to have.
