Lag When Running Long Distance

I have noticed that when I run (using Lightfoot) from one side of a map to another that I will begin to lag badly even in areas that are usually smooth for me.  I have a great cable connection, and a 3.6 p4 with 1 gig of memory and a 256mb ddr3 video card so its not on my end that i know of.  I have brought this to the attention of the 9dragons forums and only had replys from people with similar problems.  Figured I would try here and see if anyone has any ideas.

    Well, I didn't used to have this problem until today after the downtime and it upgraded to patch 7.  I see a lot of people complaining now.  In fact is is unplayable for me due to the lag, even while walking in empty areas.
