My short story on wow . ok i dont do quest's in any game .I farm gold to max level and i take my time it took me 148 days to reach lev 60 .
Ok once i hit 60 am at i brick wall because am not the type of player that can run the same instance's over and over ,but i have the best weapons and armor you could buy at the time ,which are not that great compared to raiders
so because i farmed to 60 i have everything you could get with gold ,epic mount all that in fact there was not one thing in the game anymore for me buy
so i decide well all go for grand marshal, am 41/2 months into my grind ,sitting at rank 12 . well i cant take it anymore 16 hours everyday for 41/2 months so i take i break from pvp for a week cause am not a cheater that gets people to play there toon .Well i knew it would cost me some honor but i had no idea it was going to set me back one full month of 16 hour days
so you dont call that having a gun to your head cause it sure felt like it to me .You better not stop boy or ever take a break or where going to make you pay
same thing with raiders i knew people that where trying to get there tier 0 , running the same four crappy instances everytime they where on you would think after 1 year ,some of them would have got there full set wouldnt you
i can see it from blizzards side too, you cant just give people stuff or they would never be able to keep up content wise
but come on people running the same places for a year or more and not getting there full set is total bull and you know it
And if you think Burning Crusade is going to change things think again your going to be grinding for months just to get the keys to the new instances and its not like UBRS where only one person in the group needs a key everyone needs a key lol

Since you mention raiders here, which from your post you would seem not to be one of, I feel that it is worthwhile to respond to this as someone who has been raiding and is now running the BC instances daily.
If WoW were a single player game then I would say that it is lacking and that the repetition of certain dungeons while trying to get those few drops you need is a poor form of entertainment. And the way that you write about it seems to portray it in a similar light - as if the dungeon content itself is all that there is.
However, what has kept me in WoW and has made it an awesome experience for me is really the social aspect. I love my guild and I have made great friends in it. The best part of going on instance runs or raids is doing so with these friends. We get on vent and joke around while we play, which makes even instances I have run ten times go by easily. And in general unless you are much higher than the dungeon you're in, there is a challenge in doing a successful run. Taking that challenge on with your friends, everyone working to perfect their personal gameplay while you work as a team, can be a big pay-off to me.
Granted, I do not speak for all players. But I think that at least my guildies feel the same way. Yes, I like some variety in my content. Honestly, I think we have a reasonable amount of that in WoW. In the end, the truth is that Blizzard provided an awesome way for me to have a good time with friends.

I'd say you my friend, need to be banned form life. This game has helped many people in so many ways. I suffer from depersion. I dont drink, I dont smoke, I dont cut my self, I havent sucecfully commited suicide. What do I do all day? I play world of warcraft.
I haven't read the entire 10 pages, I never will cause I'm sure it's a lot of pros and cons. I just want to say that I'm playing WoW for about 1 or 2 hours a day and I'm enjoying it. I'm 23 years old and my life is in no way messed up by this game, it's just something I use to relax after a day's work, instead of watching a movie or a show on TV.
This is so great, this coming from a guy that supposedly did everything the game has to offer only to realize after ALL this time that the game is crap. Just wow. Apparently you loved the game because I and I'm sure I speak of a lot people when I say that I would never play a game to the end game when I simply don't enjoy playing it and you most likely got pissed off at someone or something that it made you change your mind.
