Stats Stuck

dredgedredge Member Posts: 13

I've got a lvl 11 fighter and his STR, DEX, INT etc. have not moved ever.  Same STR, etc. that he had when he was lvl 1.  Any idea how to get these stats to move, or is there a bug preventing this?

Just wondering.

I'm pretty sure you have to get your career transfer first to get your stats move. I could be wrong though.

Those stats dont change and are not supposed to.  Unlike in some mmorpgs where stats get equipment modifiers or just go up with level, L2's system uses those stats to form a base for each race.

For instance a normal Elf has higher dex then other races which increases their attack speed, accuracy, critical rate etc.  That means an Elf equipped the exact same as a Human will always have an advantage on base dex.  Humans on the other hand have a higher con and hp which means they will always regen hp a bit quicker and can take more hits.

Equipment and skills are where these things can change to some degree.  A dark elf has a higher str then a normal elf so they normally hit harder with weapons.  However if the normal elf has a higher skill level with sword mastery then a dark elf and they are both using the same type of sword the normal elf may actually hit harder.

    Hope that helps.

There's no charactors devalopment in this game. There's no charactoristic  to set you apart from others. You are basiclly a clone like everyone else. You'll all have the same level skills and same stats for the same profession, oh hell we all look a like. You are either a clone of warrior or a clone of wizard.

this game has the WORST character creation and advancement.

    1. very limited character options on creation.

    2. stats mean nothing, they might as well hide those numbers since they never change

    3. very few class choices. start with 2 per race then each of those split into 2.  so thats 4 choices (except dwarf who only get 2 choices) per raec after level 20. that means not only does everyone look the same they are also all the same class.

    4. generic items - everyone also wears the same items and equipment.

    5. the only thing that seems to change when you level are your health and mana

    6. you get a few skills at level 5.. then the rest of the game you sit and upgrade those skills and only get a few new ones along the way.

    7. only dwarfs can craft items? why?

the really botched character advancement in this game. if you're level 20 and see another person of your race.. you got a 50% chance he is an exact clone of you looks and stats wise.

Whether the game is good or not aside (I can completely understand either point of view at this point) the above information from Sarnserg is largely incorrect.

    1. very limited character options on creation.

Here he is pretty much right on, there is very little physical and no stat customization.  There are 5 races, 2 faces per race/sex, 2 hair colors, and 4 hair styles for males 6 for females.

    2. stats mean nothing, they might as well hide those numbers since they never change

Stats mean everything in this game and create all the difference in the world between races.  They are not however modifiable so any 2 people of the same race will have the same base stats though very different derived stats based on class and equipment.

    3. very few class choices. start with 2 per race then each of those split into 2.  so thats 4 choices (except dwarf who only get 2 choices) per raec after level 20. that means not only does everyone look the same they are also all the same class.

I hate how the class tree starts out so limited and takes forever to develope but once it does you have more class choices then almost any other mmorpg out there.  By level 40 there are around 40 different classes.

    4. generic items - everyone also wears the same items and equipment.

Not really sure what this means completely.  There is a huge variety of weapons and armor and any class can wear any armor and use any weapon.  That means as a mage if you want you can wear plate armor and use a sword but of course are better off with a robe for casting time and + mana.

Items overall are generic in the sense they are just one step ups from the last piece with little difference beyond that staged inprovement and a new graphic.

    5. the only thing that seems to change when you level are your health and mana

Your Physical and Magic attack power increase in small increments each level as well.

    6. you get a few skills at level 5.. then the rest of the game you sit and upgrade those skills and only get a few new ones along the way.

Completely incorrect.  You will only notice minor variations (level 15 introduces a couple new ones) in your skills until you get your first class change at 20.  New skills become available at staggered levels beyond that.

For a quick reference look at this link http://www.l2orphus.com/skills.php then click on a series of classes that make up a path to see what skills become available as you progress.  For example clicking on Dark Fighter then Palus Knight then Bladedancer to see the skills that become available at different levels.  There are many skills and they have a wide range of effects.

    7. only dwarfs can craft items? why?

    Good question.

This is not meant to be a flame on you Sarnserg nor a defense of the game, I am pretty tired of the grind myself and hate the lack of quest variety not to mention monsters that just spawn all over and stand there pointlessly or the crappy community and lack of social interaction.

There is however a great deal of missinformation out there though largely because you dont really see much of the game until mid level.

base stats such as Str, Con and Dex are set upeon character creation depending on what race and path u choose...

these dont change at all during the game but instead just kind of give u an outline of what ur char will look like in the future...

as u have probably noticed, aside from these base stats, u have another set of stats which can be changed... these change depending on buff's, levels and equipment (such as p.atk, p.def, evade and such...) and read directly from ur base stats on how much they increase...

for instance a light elf has the lowest str, therefore he gets the lowest p.atk for levels and equipment (for instance he might only get +1 p.atk every 2 levels and +1 p.atk bonus for every 10 base p.atk on his weapon), while a Dark elf who has the highest str might get +2 p.atk every levels and +3 p.atk bonus for every 10 base p.atk on his weapon... this is just an example though but more or less how it works...
