I hear about all the new 'quests' but are these just the same crappy 'kill 10 animals' with the occasional 'fex-ex this package to...' as before? Or is there actually thought behind them now? If not, I'll just go back to CoH.
for example in one draenei quest you have to learn the language of the furbolgs. to do so, you need to check out totems spread across the whole area. each totem you get, you learn more of the language and you get an hint (and sometime a help) how to get to the next one.
so first you get wings to jump across the river, then super swim speed to go downriver to the next, then super panther speed and so on... you can boil it down to a fed ex if you wish, you are just getting from place A to B, but the details are fascinating, with furbolg spirits that emerge from each totem and guide you to the next.
Later one there is the whole blood elf bad guys series, in which you will assist the draenei forces, you will kill blood elves, sabotage their sun gate, capture one of their leader, assist to his dramatic interrogation and it will culminate with you and a nPC expert of explosive going to the blood elf base and making it go kaboooom. Complete with final boss fight that i won't spoil for the biiig surprise.
so, in essence they can be boiled down to the same, but there is a great deal of care in all these new quests, so much that the new areas almost feel like a new game. Wish all starting areas, heck, all areas would have the same cohesion of lore and great satisfaction in doing these quests, surely blizzard has learned a lot in these 2 years
"If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for a lifetime"
The first night I played I went on a bombing mission and owned a bunch of fel minions.
Just today in Nagrand I tried the world PvP objective. It was really awesome to rebuild a launch pad, grab a ride, and bomb the enemy base from the sky.
Also:
Dressed up like a Shadowy to speak with their folk
Fought off a bunch of birds from attacking someone in Shatt
Although some of the quests are similar, it sure beats the grind behind a lot of other MMORPGs. I'd rather run quests for Cash/Items/Exp than grind the same mobs until I could show you their spawn points blindfolded.
Also, with the addition of many factions, the prizes for additional grinding in some zones is very very rewarding.
Altho the bombing objective in Nagrand can be very slow sometimes. Spent around 45 minutes bombing the town alone. 1% of the guards health=11k. Takes very long time but it feels nice when u finally completed it. I think there are alot of the quests that aren't the usual "kill 10 nagas because I say so" quests, but they got a bette reason and isn't always the same, but there are many usual kill mobs quests too.

Aint CoH "got to warehouse, kill 5 henchman and 10 bullies"?
well, there is some thought behind.
