OK - im sure most of these COULD be answered by scouring forums and stuff - but i dont have the time (nor inclination right now) so those who know can help out:-
1. i'm assuming (maybe wrongly) that 9D is in CB - any info / eta on OB?
2. is it solely mouse movement (a la many asian MMOs) or is it WASD?
3. what level of grindage / questing does it have? (i know if it is CB, that more quests will open in OB and release) - but does it feel grindy?
4. crafting - is there any? - what sort and how useful is it?
5. item decay / destroying items - is there / can you lose your uber wep by upgrading it?
6. FFAPVP? - how do they address PVP?
7. is it FTP? as i understood it was somewhere (coupla months ago), with premiums accounts paying monthly fees?
any useful posts addressing specific questions above very welcome (without dumping all over the NDA)

EU 9D (published by Persistent Worlds) should've been in CB late Oct/early Nov but it's been delayed to some unknown time (possibly next week).
2. It's Point & Click only for now.
3. About 1 quest per level, granting about 5% EXP. You have to grind for the next 95%, yes it is quite grindy.
4. So far there is no crafting.
5. Yes / Yes / Yes.
6.
thx 4 the info
i suppose it kinda confirms my fears in the no WASD / grindy nature i was expecting.
still i'll give it a try, always good to have another MMORPG on the hard drive when u need a change that isnt a constant drain on the finances
btw - can chars switch servers? or are they created on one server and cannot jump from pvp to pve?
The one thing I really dislike abou FTP games is the fact you usually get all the trash of the MMORPG world on there. Im not a roleplayer by any means, but I like it when people on games all have nice near original names etc. The problem with FTP is about 1/4 of the characters are some kind of final fantasy character with a few numbers in their name.
Thats quite a harsh statement about the trash (not to mention so far off topic as to appear on the moon) - but unfortunately it may also be true. Basically it is coz its largely populated by kids (no credit cards required), who have little courtesy for other players and arrogance matched only by their ignorance.
Anyone naming a char (or something that represents) sephiroth, legolas or chuck norris should be instantly IP banned (only coz shooting them in the head is a little harsh).
yes ftp mmos have crappy communities, and little in the way of RPing possibilities, but they can provide alternate entertainment, or at least cause you to appretiate your p2p mmo even more.

Not really offtopic, but more of a continuation of your statement about WASD/Grinding :P. I know these games have some good potential in them, but the problem with FTP is you have less to lose. Eg, cheat in a game like WoW and not only do you lose XX months of effort but also the cash you spent as well. Cheat in a FTP game, and its just a case of losing the time spent downloading the bot etc.
I would love it if these games had some sort of CC requirement, maybe not even a payment, but you must register a credit card as a means of proving you are of a certain age, or have parental consent to play the games. It wouldn't solve the matter entirely, but it would stem it.
