You guys across the drink also had Elizabeth the first, who took on the Spanish over that little matter involving dominance of Europe and the new world. Carved the hell out of the Irish too, I believe.

It's interesting to hear people say that no one would respect a woman President, considering history shows us many tough women leaders. What was it you guys used to call Margaret Thatcher......?

'The Iron Lady' was the nickname IIRC.

yeah, its funny and ironic that they wanna blame the deficit on GW.  lol, the deficit was already there!  every pres. in history (with an except to a few) has grown the national debt.  hardly seems fair to place blame squarely on one mans shoulders.  especially when hes tried harder than most to stem off the flow.  you wanna blame someone, blame all the men that came before and didnt bother with a national budget.  and like outfctrl said, some of the debt is because of nonpayment of loans and such.

Oh no, I'm in no way trying to downplay the incredible things women can do in stressful situations. I'm just saying men can do the same things. And there's no need to flex for me, I haven't worked out in a couple years.

No there isnt. Women cn protect their kids better then men.

A women would not cause nearly as much war, exspecialy if she was a mother.

I would love a female mother president. :D

no offense intended, but i definitely dont agree about the "Women cn protect their kids better then men", sorry if this bothers you, but i am a father.  and im pretty sure that i can protect me kids at least as well as their mother.  i mean to say that men cant protect their kids as well as a mother, isnt that the same kind of sexist comments that you dont want us men to make about women?  sure seems that way to me.  kinda like youre saying women can do everything a man can, but men cant do everything a woman can do.  to me knowledge, the only thing that a woman can do that i cant is give birth and breast feed.  btw, there have been many examples given in this thread of women that ruled that started wars.  so your second statement there is false.

Was I pissed off?  Not really...I just don't like it when people say things that are blatantly untrue, and you were.  Your attempt at humor wasn't funny, so I guess it fails image

Of course, logic dicatates that my assessment of you is based completely on your posts within this thread, since this is the thread in which you have made the majority of your posts.  Based on this, it seems to me that you are one of two things:  A failed comedian who has been reduced to posting bad jokes on mmorpg.com....or a really pissed off feminist who likes to post garbage under the guise of "forum humor"  In either case, Modjoe seems to have been amused by you, I have not.

If nothing else, you got to learn something about biology.

    Ok, "joesohawt," it's my turn.

You're wrong on both counts. I'm neither a failed comedian nor a feminist. I'm a 42 year old female who has had two children,  pre-cervical cancer (caused by a ruptured tumor my ex husband so kindly gave me after he excersised his mass and muscle manhood and threw me into a wall),  and eventually a hystorectomy at an age when most woman are still having children. I now deal with  hormone levels that have decreased to such a degree that I have osteoporosis and bones that are comparable to an 85 year olds, all of which was found after I broke my sternum on a roller coaster at Six Flags. In addition, the hormone levels that you so freely told me I know nothing about have decreased to such a degree that my spine has curved to a 40 degree angle (scoliosis) in my lower lumbar spine and while back surgery could ease the pain, I will never be eligible because my bone mass is a -3.67 on the dex scale. So do tell, what the hell do you think you TAUGHT me about female biology?

Let me tell you about biology. This is what my "hormone levels" and "chemical imbalances" boil down to. I will never ride another roller coaster with my kids. I seperated all the cartiledge from my right rib cage just "playing" with my husband. I had to trade in my Mustange for an HHR because I couldn't get in and out of my car. I will never work another job. I cannot stand on my feet longer than a few minutes and while the last year of my life was spent sticking needles in my stomache, the remainder of it consists of so many pills I have to have a fricken organizer to remember what to take each day because I lose track.

Now let me evaluate you. You, sir, are one of the biggest forum assholes I have ever encountered. While you may stroke your ego by making an ill attempt at insulting a persons intelligience, you lack the capacity to know and understand that no matter how sad of an attempt someone makes to be humerous, there is more than likely a reason for it and odds are, they're making light of something that isn't so great in their own life, but humor gets them through it. Do people like me a favor and spare us your intellectual babble and just pass the post by because I am more than certain that while you were deeply offended by my lack of intelligience in female biology, you'll be the first to use it in the men's shower as a punch line to one of your joke.

I may fail at being a comedian, but you, sir, fail at being a human being.

    -Ashyn

    Hey Ashyn,

If it makes you feel any better, my bone mineral density is at -2.3 and i'm a 25 year old male :(. I haven't yet had any symptoms, i'm taking bisphosphonates, i am diagnosed with osteoporosis :(. But I feel for you.

Also, how much power does the president really have? Sure it has some veto power, but at the same time, its not like thye make the decisions by themselves, so who cares if a woman is in the lead or not.

Oh well whatever, MMO_Man, out with your views if they are even real.

Your sob story has nothing to do with the fact that female hormone levels fluctuate more than male ones.  Sorry but you lose.  I'm not sure why you felt compelled to stick in all of your health issues though, if that's why you feel the need to post "forum humor" then have at it, it doesn't change the fact that I don't think that you're funny.  And before you hop on the "you just have no sense of humor" train, it's complete bull.  I have a great sense of humor and laugh at what is funny, I just didn't happen to find you funny.  I'm not sure why you are so offended by that, but apparently you have some deeper issues than the health problems that you face, of which I am very sympathetic.  But don't try to use them as a mechanism to make me feel bad about telling you that you aren't funny, it's not going to work.

Regardless, the only subject that you will find me arguing with people on in a consistant manner is religion.  I don't make a habbit of posting a great deal in political threads unless someone is just plain wrong about something.  In this case someone said something wrong about a subject that I happen to know something about, I used to be a physical therapy major and have spent a lot of time in bio labs and learning about this stuff.  Ashyn's health issues are the exception, not the rule.

You've just done a huge disservice to the entire community with the comment that I am the "exception," not the rule.  And, pulling out the "former physical therapy" card had about as much merit as the business major who has taken a few psychology classes, yet identifies every mental deficiency that exists. What little background you possess is not the equivilent of the person who devotes 8 years to knowing the intricacies you wouldn't even skim-over in the pre-reqs.

Getting back to the dsisservice, contrary to what the text books have taught you, I am not an exception to the rule. And quite frankly, I don't give a rats ass how much time you spent in a bio lab, grow up and learn that not everything fits nicely in a test tube, nor is it so easily explained in a  text book.

The biggest sign one projects about their maturity is how subjective they are to text book explanation and how readily they spew it into the public as "scientific fact."

You are now starting to remind me of the physical therapist I had who spent his entire hour with me giggling about how badly he stunk up the bathroom. Ah yes, that vast cesspool of knowledge he obtained in his few college years, reduced to translating the odor of human gas.

So what you are saying is that the multiple text books that I have read about anatomy and physiology in addition to my professors who possessed doctorates in various medical fields are wrong...and why?  Because you say so...sorry but there is just no way that you are going to win an argument when you are saying something that directly contradicts what any book about human biology will tell you.

I should add, I didn't mean the "exception to the rule" to be insulting in any way, I simply met that while your hormone levels might be quite stable due to your condition, it in no way makes you indicitive of women as a whole.

In all seriouseness, I don't really believe it has anything to do with gender on who actually can protect their children better. I think it is an unexplainable "instinct" or "trait" that some possess and others don't; an attribute science has yet to understand.

Mother's have been known to lift a car to get a child out, and so have fathers. Mother's have killed their own children and so have fathers.  When I see that, it tells me that whatever it is, it definitely doesn't care what gender you are.

One of the people I've most respected in my life was a child psychologist who, when asked why one kid cracks and another doesn't, simply answered with "We don't know." I'd rather deal with what is not known than some half-assed answer that will be proved to be wrong ten years later.

As far as this topic goes, I'm not certain the U.S. is ready for a female president and as a female,  I would actually prefer to be the wife of the president because they truly do get more done.  ;)  Now that is a position of power.

C'mon, don't tell me you wouldn't want to see Margaret Thatcher, the Iron conservative, as President of the United States.  You know full well she could kick Saddam's ass single handed, and waste Osama before breakfast.

You'd support a woman for President, if it was the right woman. Realistically, isn't Elizabeth Dole more than qualified?

  • olddaddyolddaddy Member Posts: 3,356

Another of my favorite women leaders was Maria Theresa of Austria. When the Austrian Emperor died, she became Empress. Frederick the Great decided it was time to go down and grab some land from her. Big mistake, ultimately he lost, she won.

Then there was Queen Louise of Prussia, wife of a later Frederick. Napoleon called her the only real man in Prussia. It was her efforts that put Prussia back in the war against Napoleon. Blucher was one of hers.

Whoa hold on there tiger, infinite wisdom?  Well, it's a good thing that you qualified that statement with an IF...because I hardly think that I tried to pass myself off as some sort of expert in the field.  Notice that I specifically said that I was at one point, I didn't say that I'm a doctor or anything even close to that.  I don't think that it requires infinite wisdom to state what is already widely known fact.  We are not suddenly going to discover that we were wrong about the rate at which female hormone levels fluctuate compared to the rate at which male ones do.  It's not one of those things like evolution where new findings are constantly being made.  We can measure hormone levels with simple procedures, it's not hypothetical, it's observational.

I don't have any intention of winning this argument with you anymore than you're here to actually have an arguement. You're here to stroke your ego with self-created pro-found wisdom on a subject that you can't identify with, but for some reason llong to.

I think that you should stop making such grand statements about the things that I have said in this thread.  I've reiterated to you that science is not on your side...that doesn't make me some ass hole who is creating my own profound wisdom, it makes me someone who wants to let you know what the truth is.  It's not a matter of ego, it's a matter of me letting you know what is actually true.
As far as my inability to identify with your situation, well, that depends on how you look at it.  I've grown up in a house with two women, one sister and a mother, and I've watched hormone flucuations for 19 years...so I know a little something about how women's emotions can get the better of them.  Regardless of this though, the mere fact that I'm not a woman your age with your medical conditions does not make me unqualified to tell you what is already known about human biology.  As I said before, you might be an exception to the rule about female hormone levels...which means exactly what it sounds like:  Most women are not in your situation.

Hawtietawtie, are you standing above a well with a bucket and lotion?

I hope that none of the women who are being considered for president do run though, I much prefer my female president to have a fantastic looking body and sexy facial features. I would enjoy watching anything that would have a sexy female in the oral office. Bring it on down now.

Damn byotch dat aint no friggn moon fool, dat be a friggn space station byotch.

You'd support a woman for President, if it was the right woman. Realistically, isn't Elizabeth Dole more than qualified?

The only way I would do that is if I didnt have a choice.  Two women fighting for the Presidency.  OOOOOO....now those debates would be great!!!   Cat Fight anyone?

The only problem is, I don't think anybody would want to bring water to pour over them. I'd have to gouge my eyes out if that ever happened.

If that phrase is a slip, thats one of the funniest I've seen in ages. If its not, then its still pretty funny.

Edit: Sorry guys, the post is all screwed up for some reason, hence all that random space.

Exactly, can you imagine pouring water over them and seeing them in their wet t-shirts…..? Very scary…… this is my whole point of putting a sexy female into the white house and how it would be so much better and enjoyable to watch. In fact you could have two sexy females running against each other and they could do a wet t-shirt contest and a booty judgment debate instead of those old boring debates. Bring it on down now.
