Do you think it's a good idea to have an offline mode

    a) Nothing you do in "offline mode" can possibly be allowed to affect the online world

    FFXI is an online, party oriented game. Offline play is pointless.

     Tell ya what, Make a new character. Do not:
    •  Trade with anyone.
    •  Talk to anyone.
    •  Party with anyone.
    •  Use the Auction house.
    And that would be what Offline play is like.

    (i.e., no competition) is hardly any fairer...

    Well, maybe if it was a little bit different (making it soloble) and create a storymode then I guess it could work.  Wouldnt happen though. =P

    There's a pletoria of other FF games that are single player, why would you want this game as single player?

    Sure I'd play the offline mode, if it was fun.  You know the oppisite of what online mode is.

    I find it simply amazing that someone can ask a simple question and the rtards that inhabit this site turn it into a flame fest. Answer his question and leave it at that, this type of concept has been tried and used before for the initial character development phase of an online game. As to the initial question for me its both yes and no, there are times I would like to see an off line version of the MMO's I play for a variety of reasons but having that kind of ability simply breeds abuse and exploitation.
