John Smedley, the President of Sony Online Entertainment, has posted a new blog over at station.sony.com. This time around, Smedley talks about the Playstation 3 and its potential.
John Smedley's latest blog is now available at blog.station.sony.com. A Microsoft Blogger Says PS3 Online "Likely Underwhelming". John Smedley disagrees, pointing out some very common sense basics about online communities. It's an interesting read for sure. |

Which namely would be SWG...
Yes consel MMOs may be big, BUT PC mmo's are quite likely always going to be the prime runner since the ease of being able to upgrade a computer and it being a versitle tool IMO.
Sounds like Smed's ready to sell out one market for another, but based on some of his resent desitions, if it were any different of an aproach on his behalf, I'd be surprised, or rather impressed.

I agree with you on PC over Console. As for SWG, yes the NGE dumbed down the game but a lot of back peddling is happening. From the SWG forums, they have said they are not changing the crafting system but now are adding to it. I am not too familiar with consoles but I just dont see crafting being to easy for it.
Smed has been really involved with the DC Online game. It and the other project are probably what he is mostly thinking of with consoles. Would EQ, EQ II, MxO, or Vanguard go to console? They are really big now into quanity instead quality of subs like thier Station Pass.
Time will tell what SOE really does (not thier boards).
