Space Cowboy?

So the impression i was getting was this is a better version of space cowboy? Can someone tell me if its at all similar? Im trying to get an idea of what the gameplay is like.

Basically Space Cowboy is a FPS Space MMO. No big shiops, just fighters. Its free, but your also limited to how you look and things. 

Eve is a Space MMO. You pay to play, your not limited to anything. You start out in small capital ships, frigates, and work your way up to Titan, basically a Death Star of sorts. But your not limited to that either. Eve has many different professions, depending on what you like to do is what limits you. The only thing that really limits you is what you want to look like and thats not too limiting. Best way to check out Eve, is to download a 14-day free trail from MMORPG and look into it. Remember, the 14-day free trail does not let you experience Eve, it will take a month or so to fully get the hang of it and then explore and experience Eve. This game is not for the weak.

EVE is absolutely nothing like Space Cowboy.

EVE has no manuevers and you don't have direct control of your ship. You tell it what to do, you don't control it.

EVE isn't soley combat either, everything revolves around combat, but you have many different things in it. You actually have to build ships from scratch, get blue prints and tons of materials. Those materials take a long time to mine and yeah... basically it's nothing like Space Cowboy. The two games only have 1 thing in common: Space Ships

EvE is primairly a game of patience... flying over to places can take ages and as you progress it will often get dangerous. i found the atmosphere in eve vry empty, but hey its a space game, and everything was too repetative for me. i still have played the game for close to a year, but as it kept demanding more and more time i kicked it. In the first three months ull love the game, its full of ambition and new stuff, but once uv digged all the missions, mined every type of stuff so that u can see the icons in ur dreams, and tired of gatecamping it kind of goes dead

the thing that kept me running for this long is the pvp! what really makes game good is that when u loose a fight u actually loose something valuable, eg ur ship, BUT that also goes for the other guy u just killed :P doing this in massive fleets with interceptors and battleships is pure brilliance and unmatched by any mmorpg... the problem is it doesnt occur vry often...

so, as an eve veteran, i can say but the following: have you mastered the bhuddist arts of excercising ultimate patience and optimism, this game is exactly what you need. if not....
