Codemasters may very well kill RF Online.

With updtae Giga 4.2. They have been yanking the community around for over a month since it was supposed to be released. They say the problem sits with game crashes due to elemental talics and a camara rotation. CCR is supposedly sending frequent updates to CM to correct the problems. I do beleive CCR has the whole giga 4.2 update ready to go and works. CM is somehow screwing it up. This is true based on pRFO. pRFO is completely in english same as what we would use, however their servers are live and running strong. Why does pRFO work and not Codemasters work?

Further down the line there is a huge expansion to the world of RF-online called Episode II : Pioneers of Novus. This update adds a twitch style FPS version of space combat for even greater resources. Guild halls make an appearance in this update as well as a wide range of new weapons and Areas.

I would hate to see RF-online die in the west before we get these updates. Quests are fixed and more frequant. There is a stronger storyline and much more. CCR should either find out what CM is doing or drop CM and find another distributor and fast, as the game is dieing.

    For the last time, they can't do fk about the patch if CCR can't get em the fixes. Stop whining and just wait a bit, play another game until it comes out.

    Seems to me phRFO has got it to work just fine. Their client and servers are all in english. So before you talk please research a bit more before you say im whining. I also even said they get the patches from CCR. Please read more thoroughly next time. The point is we are getting the same stuff as phRFO and CM cant implament it. Thanks for the post anyways!

    We did have a number of issues... fact, but today is the day when we finally launch. The crash issue was resolved yesterday and tested to ensure all was well.

    We also have a tonne more fixes then anticipated as listed here with the patch notes plus a few more currently in test:

    RF ONLINE GIGA FINAL PART 2 PATCH NOTES
    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    The following changes/fixes have been made in this patch:

    Combination system

    · Item Combination can be carried out at Hero NPC in each races HQ.
    · Item combination requires Excelsior items and gold/silver catalysts.
    · Complete Excelsiors can be acquired from Cauldron monsters and Pitboss monsters,
            with Excelsior parts being acquired from other monsters.
    · Gold and silver catalysts are available from the Sundries NPC in each HQ.
    · Combining can create Class C weapons and high level force reavers.
    · Only lvl 30 – 45 weapon items can be combined.
    · Lvl 50 weapons, shields, armour or accessories cannot be combined.
    · As with upgrading there is a chance of failure.
    · The excelsior and weapon materials have a random chance of being destroyed.
    · Any talics on the weapons will be lost, no matter whether combination is successful or not.

    Quest changes

    · High level booty can now be broken down into lower level booty using a new
            hammer item available form the Sundries in each HQ.
    · The Hero NPC is used to carry out the conversion process.
    · A random number of lower level booty will be generated based on the number of
            high-level booty being converted. Up to 10 in total can be converted in one go:

    E.g.

    1 booty = 1 - 5 low level booty items
    2 booty = 2 – 10 low level booty items, etc

    Individual Unmanned Mining Tool (UMT)

    · These new tools can be set up like turrets to mine in the Crag Mine map;
            enabling the player to continue doing other activities with his/her character.
    · The first thing the player must do is set up new ore storage facilities at
            the Ore refiner NPC. The charge is 250g and will buy you 40 slots.
    · There are 3 versions of the mining tool available, whilst they all mine at
            the same rate, the stats of the tool change:

            Light UMT: Level 25 requirement, costs 300,000 and has 50,000 HP
            Normal UMT: Level 35 requirement, costs 1,000,000 and has 150,000 HP
            Advanced UMT: Level 45 requirement, costs 2,000,000 and has 300,000 HP
            Batteries:
            Small Battery = 1hr 30 mins mining time and costs 30,000
            Regular Battery = 3hrs mining time and costs 60,000

    Conditions of use:

    · The UMT must have a battery and can hold up to 2.
    · The UMT mines at a slightly slower rate than a player would at the same location.
    · Whilst the UMT is being used, the player cannot use the normal mining tool.
    · Ore from the UMT will be transferred directly to the Ore storage.
    · The UMT has endurance and HP, and if players or the HSK attacks it, an icon will
            flash on the players screen informing them of the UMT taking damage.

    Experience increases

    · The experience given by monsters has been increased based on the level of monster:

    1. 31 ~ 34 - 3.5
    2. 35 ~ 39 -5
    3. 40 ~ 44 - 4
    4. 45 ~ 47 - 5
    5. 48 ~ 50 - 7
    6. 51 ~ 54 - 6
    7. 55 ~ - 7

    · PT bonus increase *5
    · Monsters more than 10 levels above the player will not give the player EXP or PT.
     Therefore names will now be colour coded to show this.
    · EXP and PT acquirable monsters will now have a name written in orange – red
    · Monsters that don’t give EXP and PT will have names written in Grey.
    · The drop rate of normal and class A items has increased.
    · PT bonus and force mastery bonus at class change has been modified.

    Race Archon Voting System

    · To become Race Archon a player must win the support of their race.
    · Players meeting the requirements can pay 10,000,000 to apply for the position
            of Race leader (previous race leader is exempt from this fee but must apply if
            he wishes to re-run for the position).
    · 1st requirement is that candidates have to be in the top 30 of the race rankings
            and have at least completed their first class change.
    · 2nd requirement is that candidates who are in the top 7 of the race rankings after
            application will be selected for election.
    · Anyone failing to meet the 2nd requirement at the required time will be refunded their
            application fee.
    · Registration period = Sunday 06:00 (GMT) – 19:00 (GMT)

    Voting process:

    · All level 30+ characters who have made their first class change has the right to vote.
    · Voting takes place, once a week on Sunday 20:00 (GMT) – 22:00 (GMT) (2 hours).
    · The player that receives the most votes becomes race Archon, and the next 4 highest
            become vice archons from Monday – Sunday.
    · People losing in this election will not have their fees returned.

    Award:

    · The Archon will receive a box full of rewards the day after election.

    Elan Plateau

    · Whole new map (45+) added with an all-new adventure and a variety of new monsters to face.

    Volcanic Cauldron Area

    · Players now need to be 40+ to access this map via NPC.
    · Monster levels range from 48 – 57.
    · Increase experience and PT gains.
    · Some monsters have developed elemental resistance and weaknesses.

    [Bellato]

    ··       Att power Increase Amulet : Max 20

    Circle Zone Scramble

    Circle zone scramble is a GvG system, where competitors have to win more 'Scramble Points'
    than the opposing guild within the time limit.

    The winning guild will receive items, and control over a neutral zone.

    1) Registering

    ·        Need to be Grade 2 guild or better to register.
    ·        Number of players must be at least 10 users, to 50 at maximum. Needs to be a multiple of 10.
    ·        To challenge another guild, select "Proclaim Guild Battle" in the present case section
             of your Guild console, and indicate the guild you would like to challenge.
    ·        When the challenge is accepted, a guild vote begins.
    ·        When the vote is accepted, Scramble begins the next day.
    ·        Reservation on the day is not possible.
    ·        When the challenge is accepted, 5000 gold will be taken from each guild.
    ·        5 minutes before the battle begins, Guild members will receive a message about participating
             in the battle. At that time, guild members who choose to participate will be automatically moved
             to the Guild Battle Map.

    2) Direction

    ·        The guild battles will last 30 minutes.
    ·        To score a point, you must acquire a touchdown with the Gravity ball, or kill a member of
             the opposing team.
    ·        The character holding the Gravity stone will receive the following restrictions:

             · All potions except HP restore potions are restricted.

             · HP potion delay becomes 3.5 seconds.

             · Others cannot cast spells on the Stone holder, except attack skills/force.

             · Cannot ride MAU, or summon Animus.

             · Not affected by any skill/force related to summon.

    ·        As soon as the character gets the stone, all buffs will be eliminated.
    ·        Character holding the stone will be more resistant to stun.
    ·        If user cannot receive a touchdown within 2 minutes of receiving the stone, stone will respawn.
    ·        Moving speed is restricted for stone holder.
    ·        After the round (touchdown), all harmful buffs will be removed.
    ·        All beneficial buffs will be maintained, but harmful buffs will be eliminated.

    3) Compensation

    ·        Before starting the battle both guilds pay 5000 gold as an application fee, and the
             winning guild will get 10000 gold as a reward.
    ·        After scramble, the winning guild will get 2000 contribution points, the losing
             guild will get 100 contribution points, and in the case of a draw, both guilds
             will receive 500 contribution points.
    ·        The result of Guild Battles accumulates, and will be reflected in the guild battle ranking.
    ·        Top 5 guilds will be awarded with a control right of a Neutral zone.
    ·        Contribution points from a Guild Battle will be reflected in guild Honor Pt, and
             will be one of the reasons to get control rights over a Neutral Zone.
    ·        Witness of Warrior item will be awarded to all participants, and 7 Witness of Warrior
             items can be combined to form 1 Symbol of Warrior box at Hero NPC.
    ·        Symbol of Warrior box contains +4 Ore/ Exp restore D, E / Crag Scrolls / and more!

    Ability Combination/Extraction

    Using 'A' grade weapon and shields, abilities can be combined or extracted.

    1. The number of Abilities and Combinations may differ between levels.

    2. Ability Extraction

    ·        'A' grade weapons and shields can have their abilities extracted.
    ·        To extract an ability, you need an ability extractor item.
    ·        When extraction is successful, the ability remainss and the weapon disappears. When the extraction
      fails, the materials disappear randomly
    ·        Abilities may be extracted after the weapon has been upgraded with talics.

    3. Ability Combination

    ·  Normal Weapons and Shields can be combined with an Ability to make an A-grade Item.

    · In order to combine Abilities, you need an Ability Combiner item as sold by the sundries vendor

            · Ability Combiner: Probability for success is low.
            · Ability Combiner Special: Probability for success is high
            · Ability Combiner Special as available for the Specialists after their 2nd promotion except Armor Rider.
           

    · Materials may disappear randomly when ability combination fails.
    · Taliced weapon/armour cannot be used as a material for combination.
    · Sockets for created A grade weapon are the same as normal weapon's sockets.
    ·       4 socket normal weapon + Ability = 4 socket A grade weapon.

    4. Some of the option titles and effects of Class A weapon/shield items have changed.

    5. PT restriction modified to 66 PT max on all non - primary abilities.

    6. Drop rate of A/B grade items increased

    ·       Animus Balancing and Paimon Exp acquire changed.

    Paimon

    ·        Def power, HP, HP restore, Accuracy, attack power and Avoidance increased.
    ·        Def. Power and HP increase as the Paimon levels. (This is a very important part.
             Lower level players will find thier Paimon will get weaker in part 2. But this Summon now
             levels on more of a curve, so in the long run thier summon will be more powerful)
    ·        When Paimon gets damaged, Exp/pt increases.
    ·        Paimon does not acquire Exp from attacking.
    ·        When attacker and paimon's level difference is more than 10, then cannot acquire Exp.

    Hecate

    ·        Critical Probability and attack speed increased.
    ·        Accuracy, attack power, and avoidance increased.

    Isis

    ·        Attack power increased.
    ·        Isis cannot attack critical attacks.

    Inanna

    ·        HP Increased

    Additional Changes

    1. Windowed Mode now Available

    Window mode is now available. When opening the launcher users have the option to tick a
    Window Mode tick box   - tick this box to launch the game in Window Mode.

    2. Transparent Map

    When a player opens their map it automatically launches with a transparent effect.
    Once a user rolls over the map, it returns to it’s full opacity.

    3. New RF Online Game Launcher

    New content is now displayed on the RF Online launcher. New content includes:

    Upcoming events
    Sights of Novus (Screenshots)
    Rotating banner x 2

    4. MAU Adjustments

    Increased defence / HP decreased to 110000

    Players will find there MAU's will start with 150000 / 110000 HP just after the patch
    is released. Players will see 110000/110000 but it will seem they don't take any damage
    until the first 40000 has gone. Once the first 40000 HP has gone their MAU will
    fix up to 110000. Any new MAU will have 110000 HP.

    · Fixed the issue where Belphergor did not drop any loot or complete the Level 50 Quest.
    · Fixed the issue where level 50 armour models were showing incorrectly for each race.

    ·  Fixed the issue where stacks of ore listed on the auction house could be added to while mining.
    · Fixed the issue where repairing an MAU while another one is in use could cause graphical errors.

    Not having a go at you, but we do want the patch to be as clean as we can get it before releasing it... yes there is the odd issue we are getting addressed after release but these are not showstoppers. I hope you enjoy the new content.

    It's also worth mentioning that phRFo has yet to go live with Giga Final Part 2.

    As Leath and I have spoken many times, I feel that CM does
    have a great staff and customer support. After receiving GIGA 4.2 all the
    content that was promised has yet to impress a wide range of the community.
    There are issues with drop rates and the new item combination system.
    There is also an issue on making money in the game now. The drop rates of
    materials are so poor that I, being level 46, have no source of income to
    afford to keep the grind going. As I am aware and do agree with, you are no
    longer able to farm lower level mobs for cash. This stops RMT sellers from
    getting their hands on a large chunk of cash to sell. Though I agree with this
    methodology I do have to say there is something wrong for the mobs you kill
    that are your level and up to 10 higher. They drop about 1-4 items tops. I
    would also like to point out the fact that, there were double drop rates which
    in a whole could be affecting my judgment of the current rates. With that in
    mind I still come to the conclusion that the average gamer that grind will find
    it very hard to make an in game living in RF Online with the drops being so
    poor.


    The item combination system sounds good in theory, but actually doing it is
    madness. Our Guild crafter has received all of our Excelsior pieces which when
    combined create that color excelsior, that whole excelsior is used in
    combination of 2 weapons (one yellow and one purple) with a combination
    materials bought at the sundries.


    Now this is the problem.


    If you are going to create a Type C (orange weapon) you need to go through the
    following. Lets say you are to create a Type C Spedona which is a level 45
    Sword. First you will need a Yellow (Intense) Spedona and a Strong (Purple, im using
    strong as and example there are many more purple weapons available) Spedona.
    With this in mind you will either need to gather resources to crate these items
    or loot them which I rare in its self. Crafting these weapons fails so much
    that the actual percentage of getting a yellow weapon no matter the level is
    near 1-2%. Purple items are about 10% but getting the correct purple weapon you’re
    aiming for is less than creating a yellow weapon.


    After you have your 2 weapons now you will need to make or loot Excelsior.
    Since the drop rates are horrible, looting a whole Excelsior piece is near impossible.
    So that leaves you with crafting one. Since we are creating a Sword which is a
    melee weapon we need to craft us type c excelsior. This requires 30 black
    excelsior pieces, 20 silver catalysts, and 10 gold catalysts. The silver catalyst
    at our current tax rate is 50k each and the gold is 115k each. Now for some
    math, 50,000 x 20 = 1 mill and 115,000 x 10 = 1,150,000 million. That’s
    2,150,000 in game currency so far. Now you take these materials to the hero who
    also charges you a fee don’t know how much but it’s about 20% of the worth of
    the items I think. Now you have a chance to fail! So if you fail a random object
    could be destroyed or all could be lost. Meaning time and money.


    So, you farm for 3 hours trying to get the materials needed. Spending money on
    potions. Then you spend money on materials for crating an Excelsior. You spend
    money to process the ore to make the weapons. You then spend money to be able
    to craft it at the Hero, and it breaks. On top of this there is little to no
    way to make money.


    What I now say to you ZZeno and Leath, is what do you plan to do to fix the
    drop rates? Or do you plan on reducing costs of items? I mean for gods sake
    stupid fireworks are 22-56 gold each 1 for something stupid to shoot in the air
    and go weeeeee for 2 seconds.


    The update is horrible and many more people are quitting cause of the cost to
    play. No one wants to have to worry about being able to afford to play in game.
    I stand behind my initial opinion unless you fix these issues.

    PS : Leath that is true however their test server has had it functioning quite well they are working on the drop rate issues and many other fixes. CM really needs a test server which i know is in the near future.

    ·        Character holding the stone will be more resistant to stun.
    ·        If user cannot receive a touchdown within 2 minutes of receiving the stone, stone will respawn.
    ·        Moving speed is restricted for stone holder.
    ·        After the round (touchdown), all harmful buffs will be removed.
    ·        All beneficial buffs will be maintained, but harmful buffs will be eliminated.
    3) Compensation
    ·        Before starting the battle both guilds pay 5000 gold as an application fee, and the
             winning guild will get 10000 gold as a reward.
    ·        After scramble, the winning guild will get 2000 contribution points, the losing
             guild will get 100 contribution points, and in the case of a draw, both guilds
             will receive 500 contribution points.
    ·        The result of Guild Battles accumulates, and will be reflected in the guild battle ranking.
    ·        Top 5 guilds will be awarded with a control right of a Neutral zone.
    ·        Contribution points from a Guild Battle will be reflected in guild Honor Pt, and
             will be one of the reasons to get control rights over a Neutral Zone.
    ·        Witness of Warrior item will be awarded to all participants, and 7 Witness of Warrior
             items can be combined to form 1 Symbol of Warrior box at Hero NPC.
    ·        Symbol of Warrior box contains +4 Ore/ Exp restore D, E / Crag Scrolls / and more!

    Using 'A' grade weapon and shields, abilities can be combined or extracted.

    ·        When attacker and paimon's level difference is more than 10, then cannot acquire Exp.

    1. Windowed Mode now Available
    Window mode is now available. When opening the launcher users have the option to tick a

    When a player opens their map it automatically launches with a transparent effect.
    Once a user rolls over the map, it returns to it’s full opacity.

    4. MAU Adjustments

    until the first 40000 has gone. Once the first 40000 HP has gone their MAU will
    fix up to 110000. Any new MAU will have 110000 HP.

    This aint the full patch notes. What about the notes regarding the Cure charger buff, what about the recent nurf to staffs and black knights? you never provide the community with this information when you went live with the patch. We had to discver them on our own. Please supply us with the full patch notes not half of it.

    · Combining can create Class C weapons and high level force reavers.
    · Only lvl 30 – 45 weapon items can be combined.
    · Lvl 50 weapons, shields, armour or accessories cannot be combined.
    · As with upgrading there is a chance of failure.
    · The excelsior and weapon materials have a random chance of being destroyed.
    · Any talics on the weapons will be lost, no matter whether combination is successful or not.
    Quest changes
    · High level booty can now be broken down into lower level booty using a new
            hammer item available form the Sundries in each HQ.
    · The Hero NPC is used to carry out the conversion process.
    · A random number of lower level booty will be generated based on the number of
            high-level booty being converted. Up to 10 in total can be converted in one go:
    E.g.
    1 booty = 1 - 5 low level booty items
    2 booty = 2 – 10 low level booty items, etc
    Individual Unmanned Mining Tool (UMT)
    · These new tools can be set up like turrets to mine in the Crag Mine map;
            enabling the player to continue doing other activities with his/her character.
    · The first thing the player must do is set up new ore storage facilities at
            the Ore refiner NPC. The charge is 250g and will buy you 40 slots.
    · There are 3 versions of the mining tool available, whilst they all mine at
            the same rate, the stats of the tool change:
            Light UMT: Level 25 requirement, costs 300,000 and has 50,000 HP
            Normal UMT: Level 35 requirement, costs 1,000,000 and has 150,000 HP
            Advanced UMT: Level 45 requirement, costs 2,000,000 and has 300,000 HP
            Batteries:
            Small Battery = 1hr 30 mins mining time and costs 30,000
            Regular Battery = 3hrs mining time and costs 60,000
    Conditions of use:
    · The UMT must have a battery and can hold up to 2.
    · The UMT mines at a slightly slower rate than a player would at the same location.
    · Whilst the UMT is being used, the player cannot use the normal mining tool.
    · Ore from the UMT will be transferred directly to the Ore storage.
    · The UMT has endurance and HP, and if players or the HSK attacks it, an icon will
            flash on the players screen informing them of the UMT taking damage.
    Experience increases
    · The experience given by monsters has been increased based on the level of monster:
    1. 31 ~ 34 - 3.5
    2. 35 ~ 39 -5
    3. 40 ~ 44 - 4
    4. 45 ~ 47 - 5
    5. 48 ~ 50 - 7
    6. 51 ~ 54 - 6
    7. 55 ~ - 7
    · PT bonus increase *5
    · Monsters more than 10 levels above the player will not give the player EXP or PT.
     Therefore names will now be colour coded to show this.
    · EXP and PT acquirable monsters will now have a name written in orange – red
    · Monsters that don’t give EXP and PT will have names written in Grey.
    · The drop rate of normal and class A items has increased.
    · PT bonus and force mastery bonus at class change has been modified.
    Race Archon Voting System
    · To become Race Archon a player must win the support of their race.
    · Players meeting the requirements can pay 10,000,000 to apply for the position
            of Race leader (previous race leader is exempt from this fee but must apply if
            he wishes to re-run for the position).
    · 1st requirement is that candidates have to be in the top 30 of the race rankings
            and have at least completed their first class change.
    · 2nd requirement is that candidates who are in the top 7 of the race rankings after
            application will be selected for election.
    · Anyone failing to meet the 2nd requirement at the required time will be refunded their
            application fee.
    · Registration period = Sunday 06:00 (GMT) – 19:00 (GMT)
    Voting process:
    · All level 30+ characters who have made their first class change has the right to vote.
    · Voting takes place, once a week on Sunday 20:00 (GMT) – 22:00 (GMT) (2 hours).
    · The player that receives the most votes becomes race Archon, and the next 4 highest
            become vice archons from Monday – Sunday.
    · People losing in this election will not have their fees returned.
    Award:
    · The Archon will receive a box full of rewards the day after election.
    Elan Plateau
    · Whole new map (45+) added with an all-new adventure and a variety of new monsters to face.
    Volcanic Cauldron Area
    · Players now need to be 40+ to access this map via NPC.
    · Monster levels range from 48 – 57.
    · Increase experience and PT gains.
    · Some monsters have developed elemental resistance and weaknesses.

    ·        Number of players must be at least 10 users, to 50 at maximum. Needs to be a multiple of 10.

And to answer a question to a previous post, they have decided to increase the amount of ore you can mine to make money now. Which to me still dont solve the problem as you need to spend money to process the extra ore.

    You forgot the part where your unable to make money in the game at all. So when you go broke, you stay broke. What sense is it to play a game where - You cant make money to suply your only form of healing, you cant level cause you cant fund yourself.

    Codemasters has enabled double mining rates due to the horrible drop rates. This only benifits the strongest race not all races. How fair is it for me to be an acc and someone being a bell or cora get nothing when we win the chip. Up the drop rates for everyone. Not just the mining rates. Thats called stupidity. Can we say codemasters = new SOE????

    i couldnt agree more personally i am a lvl 40 driver on sprite which i think is the most populated and the most dynamic one but as a driver we are only useful in our mau because we lack any skill or abilities to do anythign out side the mau i love the mau and all but for use to both maintain a mau, pt and lvl it is almost inpossible to be a lonewolf driver u end up relying too much on ur guild which they are really nice to me and all allowing me to borrow money to repair mau and all but i rather do it myself instead of relying on other farming the cash which i think is kinda sad drivers need financial assist when we were suppose to be the faming more then they need not faming just bearly enought to maintain one thing but not another :S btw CM man u guys need to straighten up and actually do something with the game the my major problems is that the gms are kinda lazy all their events are pointless and boring well that is just a personal opinion other then that i love this game for the fact that mau sick!!!

    well RF online started out pretty good and then it just started to
    steadily go downhill.  To the hardcore players it was good and
    all.   A nice place to waste/put in TONS of time

    well it may be doing fine over in asia but i don't think its doing very well any more here state wide. Sure there are peeps playing it but enough people to pay for the costs, and even then its not worth it to keep a game going if your not making any $$
