Yea I hated seeing those advertisements for cheaters and exploiters, probably the reason I left EQ was because power leveling, twinking, exploiting, cheating, botting, macroing. However I can honestly say that if they are there I have not encountered them in FFXI or I havent been able to recognize them. If you like the game you wont really notice them. I have successfully stayed away from spoiler sites, and it seems to be a great decision.
I personally did not like the game. They give you no direction in the beggining and without help from someone who knows the game you will be lost. Maybe its better after lvl 11 but i got tired of it and quite.
