Hello.

Does anyone know of a proxy out there that will run Java past an Internet filter?   My son likes to play Java-based games at school, particularily RS, but he can't play it at school because the school uses an Internet filter called NetSweeper.   I know most proxies will work for most things, but Java and scripts will never work properly....

So if you do know a proxy that will run Java past the filter at school, please post it   Free or pay-to-use, It doesn't matter.

    Well, in my computer class at high school, we were learning about Powerpoint, Word, and Excel, all three of which I already knew. Maybe he is in a similar situation.

    He does very well at school, all kids deserve a break now and again.   Now does anyone know a good proxy to do it or not...

    Kids are suppose to learn, not play games.

    More or less it sounds like YOU'RE the kid and lying about your age.  It's only 8 hours of school, it can't be that hard to not play a game for 8 hours, can it?

    Did you know, there's this thing called 'Recess' at school?   It's where the kids eat lunch, walk and play with their friends, go on the PC's, be general dickheads, do whatever they want to do.   It's the time of the day where kids DON'T have to learn.

    Well... Im guessing you made a wrong presumption there...

    What i would like to add though. You play games at HOME. not school, but HOME.
    Do i have to repeat that?

    Ok....I'll just tell you this right now.

    When I was a Junior in Highschool, they got a program like that and blocked all my favorite sites.
    I used one of these proxy programs to get by the filter.
    After a week of doing that I got banned from all the computers in the school and barely passed my Computers III class.

    You're using a program to dis-obey SCHOOL rules.
    These aren't Teacher's rules, these are School rules. You're going to get your son in trouble for wanting to play this crappy game.

    Repeat it as much as you like, I'm still standing by the fact that there is a part of the school day called recess where kids do almost anything that they like to do...and his school isn't really too harsh when rules on the PC's are broken.

    He tried Kproxy before.   It doesn't run RS past the filter, just like every other god damm proxy out there that we could find.

    They are owned by certain companies to allow their employees to do... whatever they do...

    I made this thread to see if it was POSSIBLE to get on RS using a proxy, can you not read?   I know perfectly well what a private server is.

    Thats what I use to pass the filters in my webmastering class *yawn*

    either that or I play around with photoshop.

    it's in some asian language (maybe chinese?)  but it still has an adress bar at the top.

    <edit> I don't know if this will run java, so just try it out.
