I heard a rumor from somebody who knows somebody who knows somebody. GW is dominating WoW in sales but WoW is earning more profite. With 4 million subsribers they earn $60 million dollars a month plus the sales from selling the game. so thats like $70 million. Minus of course the cost it takes to do these things. so the profit is like $30-$40 mill. (I don't think these numbers are accurate lol) Anyway Guildwars has sold more than WoW, but there not earning a lot because theres no monthley feee. They probably earn %75 or less of wat WoW earns. So there thinking of putting a monthley fee up

I guess you didn't read anything about the game and what it's about.
You're not suppose to grind to level 200000. There's only 20 levels and the game is built around PvP. To each their own. I find the game to be very fun and not easy at all.
Once you get yourself into a good guild and PvP (which is what the game's all about), you'll find that it's very challengeing.

1) Yes i read everything about it and what its about -_-
2) I didnt rush to lvl 200000 I just did the quests presented to me.
3) Yeah i only played the RPG servers seeing my pc is too $h** to pvp , well I could the screen freezes then I appear dead fun fun.
Planning on playing it again when my new pc arrives >.>
I doubt Guild Wars will be P2P. Back when I played, I got 4 lvl 20's in 2 months. I played since CB till a little bit before Guild Wars Factions was announced. Me and my friends use to play it all the time.
I remember reading on the GW website that they would offset the monthly payment by releasing expansions every 6 months. At 50$ an expansion every six months- if their sells were more than WoW- they could bring in near or more than WoW...

I agree somewhat. Although Guild Wars is a very good mmo, it is nowhere near as deep and complex as most other true mmorpgs, and this is why I think the devs thought they would be able to get by without monthly fees, because the must have figured the game would not require as much work from them after launch (besides their expansions).
To me, if there was a monthly fee, it would drop right off my list of mmos that I play. It is fun, but simply not worth the fee, and there are better mmos out there I can play for 15 dollars a month.
Of course ArenaNet and NCSoft have every right to start monthly fees, but I think this falls under the same category as the total change of the mmorpg, Star Wars Galaxies. What they offered to players may now be different than what it wqas originally, only in this case the actual game will remain the same, but the payment will be different.
I know there will be player who will gladly pay a sunscription for GW, I won't be one of them. I would like to know if this is just rumor or if it is actually something that might happen.
Guild Wars will never be a p2p game. There will never be a lvl cap above 20. There will never be an increase in the 8 skill slots you have available to play.
GW is a PvP game, by FAR the best around and, IMO, the best game released to date. If you compare the PvE portion of the game I admit, it falls short when compared to games like WoW and I cant understand why there are PvE players in GW other than the "no monthly fee" part.
Players have a miss conception of what Guild Wars is. The have their "pre-defined" ideia of what a MMO is and look at GW and say it sucks. Its a shame really since you are missing one of the best (IMO the best) games ever released.
So again, GW is a COMPETITIVE PvP game, if what you like to do is Grind of Farm then dont even bother with GW, its not a game for you.

Do not hate it, but instead embrace the diversity.
Charging a monthly fee for a game that isnt even an mmorpg is not going to happen guys.
It's better be hated for who you are, than loved for who you aren't.
This comes up all the time and is complete rubbish. ANet has stated a gazillion times that they will never charge a monthly fee. That's the main reason why they release an expansion every 6 months. You're also disregarding all of the other ways ANet makes money off of the game through optional items. Like the online store which gives players to purchase upgrades to their GW account or the players that pay an extra $20 just to have the Collector's Edition of the game. Also your numbers, which even you admit are inaccurate, fall victim to a couple of misconceptions about WoW's figures.
1) You are basing your profit on the assumption that every single sub pays $15/month. In reality the bulk of WoW's 7 million subs come from China. They account for almost 5 million of WoW's total number and they don't pay a monthly fee. Instead they purchase time which only comes out to around 4¢ per hour of play. So really only the 2 million combined EU and US players pay the $15/month and also account for ~85% of WoW's revenue.
2) You are also assuming that all of WoW's 7 million "subs" are active players. This number is based largely on box sales and disregards players that have stopped playing or only played during the first free month and then quit. Guild Wars falls into this trap as well. However since there is no monthly fee, GW can somewhat get away with calling each box sale a subscriber regardless if they still play or not.
Don't get me wrong WoW is still a huge success, but to use their largely inflated subscriber numbers as justification for ANet abandonning their long standing business model is absurd.
