Ever since the fall of Star Wars Galaxies I've been jumping from MMORPG to MMORPG. I play City of Villians still randomly, I officially quit World of Warcraft. I started playing EVE recently, the game is awesome. I highly recommend this game to any big fans of Jump to Lightspeed and other Space Sims.

My experience is similar. After SWG drifted in and out of Lineage 2, EQ2, CoH/V, Guild Wars, Horizons, and a couple of others.
Finally! I find that EVE is skill based and open ended to the point taht Pre-CU SWG now seems terribly restrictive. I'm loving it. I've just started out and haven't fully decided on a direction yet, but already I am loving the fact that there are no skill caps and that I can create a characters with exactly the capabilities I want.
Glad you found us. Yes, Eve is a great open ended sandbox style game like SWG was at one point. I hope you enjoy it. I been playing for 3 years and still learning.
Played SWG when it was good then moved along when it became bad. I no possess no desire to play anything with a SOE or Lucas Arts logo on it. Afterall, I've found EVE Online and it's upported by an awesome community and an amazing Development studio who has vision and is dedicated to their original design and direction.
I've got a few friends who I've known for _years_ that had also quit SWG and having a hard time finding somethng to consume their online gaming desires. Some idiots apparently got it into their heads that "EVE is stupid and ur a dumb ship". The 14 day trial is bringing them into the game...
Not only do I think you'll enjoy Eve... there's actually a corp in-game dedicated to people who have quit SWG. I forget the name though...
We can agree to disagree, or we can bicker constantly... either way, I'm right. SobaKai.com There are two types of people in this world - people that suck... and me.
I will play a Star Wars MMO again, once SoE bails and they hire people that stay true to their word. Eve was also my replacement for SWG. I tried Ryl, great game if yo ulike Diablo, RF Online, dont waste your time, and Space Cowboy, nice twist on a flight sim/fps/mmorpg. I still do Space Cowboy. I find Space Cowboy fills more of the void of a full control fighter, while Eve fills the void for capital ship flying and mass destruction. Welcome Home Wardog.

EVE is indeed a great game!

Remember, you are not a ship.
