Matrix online

Sin-Sin- Member Posts: 79

Got a question to the ppl that played this game.  Im out of games atm and Ive decided that I might want to check out matrix.  Now Ive heard to sides to this game.  One side says the game is very addictive with great graphics and the other is the game blows bad.  Anyone wanna help me out and voice their opinion about the game.   I am fan of the movie, but as many of you know, many movie games are crap.

thx in advance

How about don't try EQ1, EQ2, or Matrix Online. Playing one of thoes games is like eating cold soggy wet pizza in the morning, and yes there is a select few sick people who enjoy that.

Wait for one of the new mmo's to come out. AoC, Warhammer, etc...

What if those games suck to? All that waiting will be for nothing. AoC's coming out early 2007, and WAR late 2007, which is still quite a wait if you are looking for something to play right now.

    gosh are people helpful here....

anyway, yes the game can be quite addictive - at least in the beginning. great graphics, especially on a good machine (if u have less than 1 gb ram don't bother to play though).
but the gameplay gets quite repetetive after a while, thus it gets quite boring actually, and pvp prevails often.
there used to be live events, where say morpheus would appear (played by a gm), don't know if that is still the case.
the only real good thing probably is, that you can play any role. if you get tired of one, or ur group needs a certain kind, say a hacker, u can switch your skills (if you have them). or craft for a while, then go back to combat.

for more, check out the mxo ratings here on mmorpg.

and finally, there used to be a 2 week trial, maybe fileplanet? easiest way is always to check it out for oneself.

I've either beta'd or played just about every game on the market presently. MxO is one of the worst. The graphics aren't bad, but they're nothing to write home about, it's extremely boring and repetative. It managed to take the worst of just about every existing game and combine it into one heaped steaming pile of crap. I'd recommend anarchy online before it... or rf online... or ... galax... er no, it's not that bad... yet.

The long and short of it... it sucks.

eve online is good for sci-fi, anarchy online is decent these days, rf online is better than mxo anyways... if you want a sci-fi game give one of those a try.

If you're interested in other genre's try eq2, wow, coh/cov, guild wars, or well pretty much anything else. Direct2drive has a pretty good selection of mmo games, some are cheap, some aren't. Most of the major mmo's have a 14 day trial these days.

Edit: Yah i know you played some of those, but honestly you're better to go back and play them some more than play mxo, it's really that bad... i'm not kidding. Perhaps it's only saving grace is that it's part of station access and if you enjoy a few of the sony games thats a good way to get access to them all plus a fair bit of content free in eq2 that others have to pay for.

I played the matrix online for a while and personally I thought it was great. Then SOE bought it and everyone left. It's a dead game now.

Matrix was really good in the beginning. I enjoyed it loads. Now I find it still has its charm, but is not as good anymore.

I played it when it first came out and found it very repeditive. It aslo had some control and community issues back then, but those issues may have been resolved.

Wow, if its worse now than it was at release dont buy it. Hell if its anywhere near as bad now as it was at release dont buy it.
