If someone could tell me when they finally get around to firing Arkanon I'd be my obliged. I would love to come back to that game, but until that trained chimp is elsewhere I'd sooner give my money to an informercial.
It stinks too, because I am really missing that game right now.

He's the head or CSRs last I checked. Or at least one of the heads. Long story short.
Account Hacked (as we saw a bit back they had the security measures God gave naval lint installed)
Character transferred from my account. The fee was paid with a credit card OTHER than my own. They admitted that and we all have proof.
Asked for character back since their own protocals state that unless they received an email from the account owner characters COULD not be transferred from one to the next. Obviously, no email ever sent.
Got account back. Pissed that main character and namesake was gone. Find it still active. Contact player with no response but he is a "supporter of Eve Radio" I am told.
Told to screw off in not so many words by Arkanon who even refused to send this issue to his supervisor when I asked and that A- My account couldn't have been hacked and they know that (even though 100s of accounts had been hacked just a few months back) B- I couldn't even have the name back when I asked for that pittance of a settlement.
Posted about problems on the forum just detailing what had happened. I wasn't even rude or pissy about it. Just stated the facts and pointed out a loophole in their system (as well as posting the emails I received which I was informed by staff that was "illegal". Hardly, you send it to my inbox it's mine to do with as I please). Got banned from forums.
I would say the guy has the IQ of a prawn but I refuse to insult prawns that way. So until he's dead/gone/fired/abducted and probed I won't return. I am not going to run the risk of having to turn to CSR support again when they have a rotted pumpkin in charge.

I was going to answer that but I see iChe did for me. Arkanon WORKS for CCP. While he's called himself a CSR Manager and a GM since the time I started (Beta phase 5) he is nonetheless in a power to do whatever he wants to me and there is a DISTINCT chance that I would have to deal with him again should something arise.
Saying it's stupid for letting him ruin my enjoyment makes about as much sense as saying you go to the same restaurant even though you know the chefs craps in your dimsum.

Most of the dealings went back and forth with Aeyrn first. That's how I discovered the account had been used by someone else (whose info was still on my account screen when I got the account back).
As for Arkanon "investigating" he just got his needle stuck on the record and answered with "It can't happen. Accounts can't be hacked". If you've been playing for anytime you know that's a flaming load or something awful.
First he tried to tell me that they had no evidence of whose card was used to pay for the transfer, which is an out and out lie since what company DOESN'T keep records. Then he admitted that they allowed the character transfer. After that...he told me that "accounts cannot be hacked". This arguement was going on at the time of mass hacking issue. He told me "well we caught that, right?" to which I replied "Yes, becuase they were active accounts. Someone called you the moment they couldn't log in. My account was inactive for some time so no one knew the wiser."
Beyond anything else, sides or not, I asked for his supervisor and he refused to give me that privilege. That's wrong in ANY business practice. I had page long emails with this guy and all I can say is that I've blown things out my nose in the morning with a higher intellect.
Like I said, it's a shame. I really miss Eve as it was the best MMO I have ever played. But I don't feel safe giving my money to a company that has him working for them. Especially when he was so rude to me.

Nope, the ONLY thing I ever did was allow a corpmate access to my account while I was away for a week (which was originally allowed fine and dandy at the state of Eve). Of course, I changed the password while that player had access and changed it back when I returned. And this access and password change took place MONTHS before I stopped playing for a while. THAT is what Arkanon attributes the loss of my character to. Yet he STILL couldn't, or I should say WOULDN'T, explain how they allowed the character to be transferred (or the account if that was the case) when they HAD to receive an email from the owner, which was me. They never got that email, he admitted so, but then stopped explaning why they went ahead and broke their own rules to transfer the character.
If they account HAD been eBay'd as you claim, they could have even asked the current owner how they came upon that account. But they didn't even go that far. I openly admitted that for a period of 6 days someone else had access to my account but the passwords had all be changed and reset when I returned. The fact that he was saying directly to me "Accounts cannot be hacked" while they WERE being hacked really left a bad taste in my mouth for their business. I work in IT, and have for 9 years. Even *I* know not to say "cannot" with any certainty.
The final blow was when I asked to speak, as nicely as possible, to his supervisor and he told me no. That's bad form any way you go about it.
I effect, your gut feeling makes ME have a gut feeling. Perhaps they assumed the same thing and didn't even bother looking into it. If that's the case he went from being ignorant to lazy in my book.

You let another corp member use your account. Im sorry man, if that is true it is not CCPs fault or anyone elses for not being able to use that account. Honestly man, you are trying to PLAY us for sympathy? You think there is something we can do? LOL, If you would have followed your TOS,EULA you wouldnt even be posting this! Personally I keep all my information only to myself. If I were to sell a character to a mmorpg it would be FINAL. I have no sympathy towards your plight. It was a stupid action on your part to begin with.

I only see one person getting angry here besides the OP who TBH if he is telling the truth gives him just cause. So who was it exactly being immature and over emotional?
Also it would be obvious that if it was happening all the time then we would know due to the amount of people complaining about it. No one has even tried to imply that this happens all the time and I think you are reading more into it than what is there. I am sure that cases like the OP's can and will happen from time to time and to be fair he has every right to complain about it.

I can definitely understand why the GM would't take the matter any further and if I was GM, I'd probably act the same way. The fact that the OP allowed someone else to use his account nullifies any complaint he makes, whether it is true or not. I have never given my account info to anyone, even if I felt I could trust them or not.
Get over it. Take the experience as a lesson learned instead of a whine fest.
Initial EULA did not specify anything about access to accounts and it even allowed for transfer of ownerships. Feel free to ask Arkanon that yourself if you are curious. They altered the EULA and their policies quite a ways back to stop these sorts of things, but at this time when I allowed someone else to use my account it was permissable. The problem being that I changed the password back after the person had that account, then months later I stopped playing for a while. There's a HUGE time gap that ruins that logic as to being the flaw. That would be like saying that if I had a roommate that had the key to my house, then said roommate moved out and I changed the locks said roommate would not be breaking and entering if they came back into my house. Makes about as much sense. Even more so when he was telling me a bold faced lie that "accounts cannot be hacked" at the time they were running around trying to fix 100+ accounts they, themselves, said were hacked.
Keep in mind, this isn't a whine-fest as you call it. All I asked initially was that if anyone hears of Arkanon going bye-bye to let me know. Then I would return. While I check the forums from time to time I know people who are actively playing would know that information sooner than I would being that Arkanon is a supervisor and it would be announced to the community. I only explained what happened in short when someone asked.
I love the game and always will. Just don't like Arkanon. Regardless of the situation when someone is a long time patron and paying customer and asks for a supervisor, no is not an acceptable answer. Especially when they had my credit card info and they were showing themselves to be none-to-secure at that time period. It was a reasonable request when I was dealing with someone who could not provide me with the answers I sought.

Thats what happens when things get blown out of proportion. You know the real problem with all of this is the fact he did not try and go AROUND Arkanon in the first place, He's a GM at CCP. Am I the only one that realises he could have just Directly contacted CCP about the issue and so gotten Arkanon removed from the whole ordeal. He'll if you were willing to call them (buy an international call card, cheaper then local calls in some cases, yes Iceland from anywhere for 3c's a whatever rather then the dodgy 'TSP' gives) And you would have had all the authentification they would have needed. I'm sorry voice works so much better then a letter electronically written.

Well, it's technically not cleared up as I would be returning on my secondary account, but I really just want to play again. As for the speed it's really all I needed to know by my first post. If Ark is gone and Ender is charge then I am game.
I could've called, sure, but the problem was the experience I had dealing with their customer service department left a bad taste in my mouth and did nothing to tell me that I wouldn't just be wasting my money and time on an international call. However, if Arkanon is indeed gone I will just talk to Ender and see if calling would be beneficial to me.
As for getting in on a brand new shard...I'd be right there with you if I could. Nothing quite like the live days of Tranquility when everyone KNEW where to run to mine up Ark because the map from Beta was the very same in live. Even better than that was what, 10 or so days in when they switched the security ratings of 100s of systems leaving people stranded in 0.0 space in Probes :P Poor CSRs working all hours just to move people around. A fresh start would be fun if EVERYone was starting fresh.

and BTW ppl look at the caldari alliance posts on the eve forums a dev actually suggests letting someone else use ur account hell i have two accounts and there is another person i know that has my user name and pssword and i have his for both his characters.
also account hacked is a very vague saying i meani if i had a spyware program that told me what people put into say IDK the eve password and user name part on the exe the only thing you would notice is about a 3 seconds delay in ur logging in and i would have ur user name and password to do with what i want so the OP isnt an idiot he is just a guy that got screwed over the biggest problem is the lack of using thier own protocols to protest against these things.
