Stand straight up, near a vertical or semi-vertical brick wall, 2-4 inches away.
With a determined motion, sway head forward, trying to bow.
Repeat until fun emerges.
Nice idea, but I did that even before the NGE came out, just when it was announced
I'm talking about a replacement for pre-CU or pre-NGE (the title is misleading on purpose =P), though... something with depth and community where an entire world of adventurers and tradeskillers can co-exist.
Heh, that'd be a paradise of sorts, too bad it'll never happen, eh? ^_^

And while you do this, repeatedly say outloud "My name is Luke Skywalker, I'm here to rescue you."
after all....you can't leave out the STAR WARSY and ICONIC aspect of having FUN.

You need an immediate replacement or something to catch your attention until you're able to committ to another mmorpg?
I have gone through quite a few games and I'm finding myself constantly returning to EVE Online.
Bad things about EVE Online for a typical mmorpg gamer: no characters or toons to run about with nor dressing up in fanzy clothes and your ONLY representation of a character is a dynamically rendered 3d bust of your character that gets ported in as a type of modified still shot of you; open environment and availble functions of game play are overwhelming for most players; extremely high learning curve!
Good things about EVE Online: a single gaming "server' with an extremely high concurrent user base - currently upwards of 25k-26k users during peak; massive PvP encounters that are graphically intense - free range of the ENTIRE gaming environment and as true to a sandbox environment as gaming is concerned - be a pirate and kill other players who would rather mine resources or transport cargo, scout star systems hunting rats (npc pirates) while acting as a quick responce defense force for your establisehed mega corporations minning operations and protech your investment, chase down wanted pirates and collect their bounties recovering their equipment when you defeat them.
PM me and I'll get you a 14 day trial which grants full access to everything to be done in the game. I'm going to walk someone else through it for a few days and plan on making an alt pirate so we can chase down minners and transport haulers. Yaarr!!
The first two vids are my favorites. The both show game play and pretty much what you can expect from game play. What this does not show are players, nubs, getting lost because they set their warp destination 25 star systems away.
I can't find another game that was os the same dynamic calibre of pre-cu SWG let alone one with a science fiction theme. EVE is more of a interstellar game of corporate exploitation and domination. Corporations are your guilds and you can combine many corporations to form an alliance between them all. Game play can be slow at times and character advancement is done in real time which allows you to refresh your self while training to Battleships level 5.
And the developers, CCP, are some of the most members of an online gaming environment you'll ever cross paths with!! (the footage of Oveur drunk while working on EVE-TV and acting like he's given the guy next to him a bj at the table is hilarious!!!)

No game will be as good as SWG for many months. Wait for the emu and dont let guys like this try to make you waste money on boring second gen mmos.

I tried out the free trial for EvE a few months ago.. I rather enjoyed it but was more then a little leary about starting up solo, though I must admit the tension at times can be rather interesting... lol had a fairly long chat with a guy that had shown up in what i can only think of as the starter area , he was in a battle cruiser or something and there I was absolutely dwarfed by his ship in my little starter ship (his ship marker was yellow in the list wich I was pretty sure at the time was not good). One thing about that game I found the players were generally very polite (likely to do with it being open pvp and player looting).
Another one that looks good from what I have seen is Saga of Ryzom though it is more Fantasy then Sci-Fi (they have a unlimited free trial right now you can't leave the newbie area until you pay up though) once you leave the newbie area you can get guns of some kind.
Both of those games are skills based games though Saga of Ryzom has a sort of level system mixed into the skills..

Um actually Eve online was put out on the market the same year as swg. 2003. Playing Eve is the furtherest thing from wasting money. Or you can wait to play the SWG emu and participate in stealing with the rest of those criminals.
