K guys I narrowed down two games that I would like to get into. Ive checked out websites and vids but still cant decide. The games are as stated: EQ2 and Lineage 2. Im looking for more of an adult community but a game that is easy to learn out of the box. Ive played games like Knights online and found that it was very difficult to get my feet wet. I saw vids but couldnt really tell how the graphics shined. If anyone has played both i would like information on which game to get into. Pros and Cons would be very helpful.
Thx in advance

I play L2 btw
don't click this link...
Stick with EQ2. I have played both. L2 is a good game, but it has tons of bots and a bad and I mean bad community. The grind is horrible. When I played, a person who had a level 60 something and a few lower characters told me it takes over a year to complete the grind, including the sub-classes. After that he gave me all his money, which was a lot and then he deleted all of his toons. It takes a horrible game for someone to do that.
EQ2 is a lot like WOW, but is unfair to say that they copied off of WoW. There were released around the same time with WoW beating EQ2, but both games had some of the same ideas. EQ2 offers tons of class choices, nice graphics and recently PvP servers. Mature community also.
I've played both EQ2 and L2 (like most people)... I would tell you to go with Everquest 2. Lineage 2 looks nice and has a few interesting concepts going for it but it is a SUPER GRIND. And if you don't make friends fast then you might end up getting pk'd a lot later (basically if you're not in town in Lineage 2 you're pretty much fair game to be killed by anyone). Lineage 2 is all PVP based. Forget quest, quest rewards or any type of storyline. This game is about grinding you're way to the top and then PVPing.
Also Botting IS A HUGE problem in Lineage 2. I understand every game has bots, but the bots pretty much control the entire economy in Lineage 2. Anyone there can tell you. So if you enjoy PVPing then I would say go with Lineage 2. That's all I play Lineage 2 for, and really if that's what you want to do, try a private server. But I warn you, Leveling up once you've hit level 20, is going to be HELL. You will constantly be doing the same thing for hours at a time with very little reward. Oh unless you do Raid Monsters, but the problem is on some of the bigger servers the Bots pretty much squat on the raid bosses location (once you kill a raid boss you have to wait 5 to 10 hours for it to respawn) and kill them.
Sorry if it sounds like I'm bashing Lineage but you just have to understand it's primarily only for PVPing.

After reading everyone's post it's just funny, we've all played Lineage 2 and Everquest 2, and it's just hard to defend anything super great about Lineage 2 other than PVPing.
Btw I don't think I've ever hated the GM's in a game more than the ones in Lineage 2. They drive me nuts sometimes.
I'll stick up for Lineage 2. I think your asking the wrong place. There seems to be a heavy bias on these boards to Lineage 2. Also, for some reason, most of the people who say they played Lineage 2 haven't and they are BSing out of their a**.
Lineage 2 is for Hard Core gamers. Its that simple. Thats not to say you can't play Lineage 2 casually. You can and if your the type that dont really care about getting to the top fastest and all that jazz, you'll have fun.
I don't really know what the hell the previous posters to this thread is talking about. Sounds like they have never played the game. One guy says he got into the game, ran around for awhile and couldn't find any mobs to hunt. This personally is clearly lying. People like this is what constitute the attitude on this boards against Lineage 2. For some reason they feel a need to slander this game, even without playing it? I don't understand that.
Lineage 2 has probably the best graphics in all the games I've played. It is a grind heavy game past level 55 or 60. Pre 60, you can level pretty easily, especially from level 1-20 in a couple of days with all the new newbie buffs they have helping new players. THey are also about to introduce Chronicle 5 in the coming 2 or 3 weeks, its already coming to the PTS (test server) next weekend. With this new chronicle there are HUGE additions to already easy leveling content for new players, including a clan system that help newbie players who would like to be active in the clans on the server he/she chooses.
There are also negatives for sure. The RPG element is somewhat lacking in this game. But with each chronicle things are improving and more players are joining. THis game despite what others say is FAAAAR from dying, in fact it is growing pretty strong.
Oh and one other thing, Lineage 2 has by far the most mature audience in any MMORPG you will ever play. Its just the nature of the game. Its Hard Core and its rulez are brutal. *kids* learn pretty fast that their sh*t don't fly in Lineage 2.
Best wishes on your decision.
BTW from the two choices you gave, I'm not saying Everquest 2 is the best MMO there is. For me I wouldn't go either of them anymore. But since those are the two choices you gave, that's what you get. If you don't have a nice video card and computer btw, Everquest ain't gonna look so hot. So like BlazerX said, LIneage 2 sure looks nice even for lower video card users.
Cept for when you get to the Higher level towns where everyone hangs out (giran pretty much). You'll have to usually set your video card setting to the lowest because so many people are selling stuff it's overcrowded and super lag starts to kick in. I think that was the one thing that really got to me was the trade and sell system in lineage 2. But now that everyone has mainly migrated to Dion and Giran, it's not so bad I guess...........
Just when you get to giran do a /findprivatestore ITEM to try and find what you're looking for. It can be hell.
L2 is not a game for the mass, actually it is, just not for the NA mass. The game is for hardcore gamers, it was design with the normal korean gamer (hardcore) in mind, the grind is not that bad at all from 1-40, then u get into second job quests, 3 quests in total to change jobs...it takes awhile and quite painful as a newb, but u'll get through it. At this point in time u can still be a casual gamer and have fun, as long as u get into a decent clan. 40-52, harder, longer, possibly will meet a few PKes here and there, but still managable and can stay within the 3-5hr a day range for u. 52-60, u start to REALLY feel the grind, the lvls dont come easy anymore, those that never gotten into a good clan will quit, and cry about the grind on these forums, then the wannabes will take that info and act like they played the game and bash it. Those that got into a good clan will probably stay, becuz at this point in time u'll be pretty good ingame friends, and leaving them will not be as easy as it seems.
You grind with clanmates, or even alliance friends, the grind is bad, but u'll notice it less and less becuz u think u r having a good time with peeps. U'll (no, not might, u will) start to play more and more per day and wont notice it till u finsihed ur grind session, usually about 10hrs at this point.
60-75, at this point in time u'll probably become useful, however slight in sieges. at 60-65 u'll most likely just be pawns and die in 2 shots to mages and archers, but u open the path for the higher lvls, so still of some use. U'll lose a lot of xp in pvp, in sieges and grind endlessly to gain it back and attempt to lvl. u become more and more addicted to the game becuz of the drama, the pvp, the trashtalking. U'll wanna be stronger to beat "the other side" so u'll grind and grind till u hit 75, then go on raids to obtain ur subclass, then get third class change to become more useful in pvp. Then if u r really into fame u'll grind 40-75 again on ur subclass just to obtain the nobless status and compete for hero.
By this time...it'll be 10+ hrs a day.
To hardcore gamers, this is fun, this is challenging and exciting. U decide if u wanna play this game, or this drug i called L2
