2 characters on one account?

As you can see, im a L2 n00b. So, treat me like a n00b!

I'm an ex CS player, who got into WoW, and with 2 l60's got bored of the end game rubbish on that, and so am looking for a new challange and new game. L2, i believe, is that game.

I'm all ready to buy it, but just before i sign the dotted line, i want to just check, can i create 2 characters on one account?

a simple 'yes' or 'no' would convince me to buy and play now!

Oh heck yes. You can create 7. You can only play one at a time mind you but go nuts.

And actually, you can create 7 on each server. So... well, you know.. go MORE nuts.

I'm going to add, please do your research about the game. It is about grinding, a hard economy, open pvp (which I suppose you won't mind ; )

The new player areas are a bit sparse but that is a blessing. Less pk'ers means that you can get to your first class change quickly and then go to Dion (town with the most 20 + players) and meet more people, join a clan etc.

yeah. im going to give it a go. i found myself playing wow for 6-8hours per day and when you got 2 level 60's, theres really nothing to do except farm tyr's hand and stand in IF.

One thing does concern me though...i read that everyone wears the same things at certain lvls...does that mean there isn't drops? no BOP's, BOE's? Arn't there sets to collect?..if you play wow, theres the thousands of items, plus the tier 0, 0.5, 1,2 sets...is there none of that?!

There are a limited amount of items per Grade range. More "no grade" and "D grade". It gets less as you go up in grade all the way to the new "S grade" which is for lvl 76+ players, And at the moment only has one item per class. This will change as the game continues.

Also, part of the reason for this is that different sets give (strengthen) different abilities.

What happens is you find that certain sets become preferred and therefore you have more players using them.

Another thing to note that anyone can put on anything. Becuase of this the developers need to make meshes for every race, sex and "class type"

It is also important to note that if you wear an item "out of your grade" then there are penalties such as extremely slow movement speed or missing your prey.

There are full drops but they are very rare. Mostly materials for crafting. Dwarves are the only race that can craft weapons and armor.

This game is not like WoW. It is very important to mention that. IT is about getting powerful, joining a clan or alliance and PvP. This is not to say that there are more "casual" players who don't care about that stuff but eventually you will see that the gameplay boils down to player interaction and politics. Also the econony can get very hard so you won't find people collecting "every set" for kicks.

You will earn every piece of equipment.

right, we'll I'm downloading the game as we speak (54%) at the moment and have purchased a serial.

I see there are very few servers also (less things to go wrong!!!). Also, i heard that only one is european, would it be advised to go for this one since im in the UK with a 8meg line?

I was looking on the site, but couldn't really see much about the different servers. Any ideas on this front (thanks for being so useful!)

Teon is the Euro server. My opinion is "yes". Take it. It might be a bit crowded but I feel this is a good thing as you will have a community that is easier to find. And by that I mean you will find more players with alts who might give you a clan invite or help you out.

Also, the siege times will be Euro time so you will not have to stay up until ungodly hours. Just to let you know, the server is in the U.S. It's just a Euro Server because of the siege times.

Each server forum on the main forums has a server personality post stickied at the top. They are a little out of date but should help.

Also, some servers do more posting at www.l2blah.com. Hindemith seems to prefer the main forums.

Bartz has the most population (next to Teon). Lionna is the unofficial RP server. Seems to be a lot of PvP on Sighart (used to be kain... might still be for all I know but they rarely use the main forums it seems). Hindemith has a lot of drama.

Yeah, there are a few chronicles in that download of yours so don't worry about it. Everyone goes through it.

Yeah, it's a good thing to make a Spoiler to, for spoiling mats and maybe a Artisan to craft thing for you main char, a fighter or a nuker (mage) ^^

You just reminded me of them siege times. I rolled on gustin and kinda just stayed there and now that my char is about lvl 20, I'm torn between rerolling and staying there.
And it turns out there's some test char on Teon from a year or so ago and the sucker just has to be level 7, so I won't get the assist magic and exchange thingies.

Bleh... just thought I'd say. Gimme a hug.

If you are trying to get to teon with the noobie buffs and stuff, I believe if you delete all the toons (7 days to wait) then the server is clean to start again and you will get the noobie benefits again.

You could always buy 1 more account to lvl a Buffbot if you want , i just did it 2 days ago since i rerolled again, and know i wish i done it in C1 when i startet out...
^^ you can also borrow the buffbot out to good friends  when your not useng it .
just keep em low equipped then so someone wont jack your stuff. cause it happened before that when someone borrow out they buff bots they get´s stripped i only know 2 who it has happend to
off course they´s the fact that when you have your own buffbot, you make it harder for other buffer/healers to get party´s. But you can´t really solo at higher lvls without buffs, and you should look ahead since im joining a small clan, getting party´s isent always easy you might be stock with shouting for hours happend to me... 
Well in C5 if your running 2 accounts on 1 computer when you switch from 1 L2 game to the other the first L2 game will automatly cancel they Macro useing

Mostly they do theys 4 Diffrenet Set´s for B grade and 4 for A grade but only 1 Set for S but in C5 they be adding more Item´s at least they said they not finish with A S grade items...
