Question...

ManweZManweZ Member Posts: 65

I have Guild Wars and Guild Wars: Factions; However, I want to play with a friend who does not own Factions. Can I travel to the prophecies area (I think that is what it is called) of the game and play with him on my Factions character? I would assume that we should be able to.

Thanks

Good, thanks for answering the question. My friend does not intend on getting Factions, so this will be great.

However, you won't be able to do it immediately with a new RP character. You need to play quite a way into the game if you want to do PvE missions together. Just in case you didn't know already.

The only trick here is that you can't use a Factions character in the missions before Lion's Arch. I'm hearing that that's going to get changed in the near future, but it's better to know that you're friend is going to have to hook up with you in Lion's Arch for any real help.

That doesn't mean you can't go to the towns, however. You just can't do the early co-op missions together yet.

You have to do a few missions and quest to get to that port lol...

Hey VGJustice, where did you hear that it's going to change? Would be cool if you could do the early Tyria quests with a Factions character. Would help counteract the slightly dull PvE in Factions.

Read it in a Gaile Gray chatlog over at GuildWarsGuru. It's probably also posted up at GWOnline, but I don't frequent that site.

For those that don't know, Gaile Gray is basically the mouth of A.Net, and shows up in game to talk with players, take suggestions, and answer questions. She generally shows up on Saturday in the evening for me, and she always picks the same town and the same district to appear in. And, these chats almost always get logged by The Boat Crew [boat] and then posted to GWOnline, and reposted at GuildWarsGuru.

Recently, she's been showing up in Kaineng Center, International D1.

Thanks. That's interesting, I'm a big GW fan but didn't know about the chatlogs. I've now managed to spend the last hour or so in work reading them, instead of working.
