Inside Look at SWG Publish Plan

The devs were kind enough to take me thru their future publish plans!

Pub 28) Traders and entertainers will be removed as classes, and traders will now be separated into several professions!  These are sub-classes that everyone can pick two and level up.  Their original ideas for this include anywhere from herbalists to alchemists, skinners to tailors, miners to blacksmiths, even engineers, enchanters and tailors!  The gear one could learn to make would be better than most standard drops, but not all!

Pub 29) The names of the iconic classes will be changed as follows:

  • Spy -> Rogue
  • Medic -> Priest
  • Officer -> Warrior
  • BH -> Druid
  • Commando -> Warlock
  • Smuggler -> Paladin
  • Jedi -> Shaman

Each class will have three trees to allocate skill points to starting at CL10.  Each level up starting at 10 will allow one point.  These trees will give you the ability to make your character unique!

Pub 30) Introducing PvP Servers!  This way, entire groups of rebels will be able to gank a lone imperial straggler in the wilderness!

Pub 31) SWG is getting rid of cloning centers and introducing graveyards.  When one dies, he or she must run from the graveyard to his or her corpse, sometimes 5 or 10 minutes away!

Pub 32) New quests!  SWG will be adding approximately 4,587 new 100% functionable quests!  Many are even class specific!

Pub 33) 90 levels is too many, so it will be scaled down to 60!  Up it to 70 in an expansion!
