any other reason to just pod someone is to fulfill the persons real life inadequacies by ranking high on killboards or to hear them complain on forums.. neither is profitable or gives them a bigger penis :)  especially in those who dont bother to scan the cargo and just kill anyone who passes by.  theyre losing money by blowing ammo, and time by sitting and waiting for someone whos dumb enough not to have instas for the system.

No, but it sounds like somebody stole yours...

It's pirating.  It's allowed.  If you don't like it, hide out in high-sec.  They make their money, just differently.  You don't like it because you're on the recieving end of the bad stick.  If you were on the giving end, you wouldn't say any of that.  If you don't like pirates, go play a game where death doesn't cost you anything (WoW, CoH/V).  The bottom line is Eve is FFA PvP.  Ganking somebody isn;t called PvP... it's called Ganking or Pirating or extreme business.  Despite the name, it's allowed and can be avoided.  Again, WoW and games of the like are much more noob friendly.  Eve is for the elite of the MMOers.  If you can't stand that then go elsewhere.

look, dont direct your carebear frustrations toward me.  I answered the OP.  I never said I disagreed with any of it no matter how you want to mince my words and use clever analogies while comparing me to a world of warcraft player.

Simply pointing out your hypocritical view points.  And I'm sure you SAW WoW in the sentences, but if you read those sentences I'm simply suggesting different games to you.  I'm not comparing you to anything... though... your response could allow me to compare you to lots of things... one walked around saying, "Ha you seen mah baseball?"

The rest of your response is irrelevant because you responed to what you thought I said and not what I actually said.

We can agree to disagree, or we can bicker constantly... either way, I'm right.

I still ransom with my pirate. Although I don't if there's a chance that I could be attacked by other people during the ransom. Other times, I just kill them and take thier loot, more profit sometimes. Or, Just kill them because I know they won't have anything worth ransoming.

It was directed towards you, moron!  I'm calling you hypocrytical.  I'm not calling you anything else... well, now I'm calling you a hypocrytical moron, but... originally I was just pointing out that everything you were saying was contradicting everything else you were saying.

One of the major reasons why I quit Eve (longest I lasted was 3 consecutive months of playing) was becuase of the ganking... Im just not that type of player, I dont like when I am restricted to playing at some zones because in others, i will be ganked for no apparent reason by superior forces. If only indies would have a decent  defence against pirates (PC pirates only, i can handle NPCs more or less). But if u want to mine in a low sec zone and dont have buddies playing in your timezone, yer screwed if a bunch of pirates decide to jump in and check your cargo.
Call me carebear or whatever, I just dont like being limited to a quarter of galaxy because I like to play solo and play it my way. This game is not oriented for soloers. But if u like teamwork, then this game is definitely for you

I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.

I just have to throw in here...

    1. I don't know if this was mentioned, but indy's tend to carry valuable stuff, so going into low sec space without an escort or instas is very.... newbish.  It's like walking into an arena in any other game as a newb.  If there is someone else there, they are going to take a potshot at you.
    2. Frigates can carry blueprints.  Sometimes, idiots have been known to carry very expensive bpo's into 0.0 in frigs.  I once saw a killmail where 9.5 billion isk worth of bpos were destroyed in one AF.
    3. Learning to survive in EVE is a hard process.  You either get really lucky at first or not.  If not, hopefully you were smart about it and didn't go into low sec with anything you cannot afford to replace.

For anyone reading this, let me make a recommendation or 2:

    • Learn how to use the map.  Changing the star settings to "show pods destroyed in last (1 hour/ 24 hours)" is a lifesaver.  Also you should get familiar with the jumps in last hour, and average pilots in system settings.
    • When moving valuable items, take a highsec route unless you are positive the lowsec section is passable (usually determined by a scout), you are experienced in running gatecamps, or you have a serious escort.
    • Instas are a must, do not travel with valuable goods without them in empire or lowsec space.  You say, "How do i make instas in a guarded system?"  If you are truely afraid to go there with your main, just make an alt, making sure to get them as a minimum, minimater frig 2 for a slasher (fast frig), and some navigation / afterburner (if AB is possible I dont remember) skills during character creation.  Grab a slasher with an afterburner on it, insure it, and go run your instas around 12-2 am CST or right after the server starts back up in the morn.
    • When carrying valuable goods, never go afk while travelling.  Use your instas.  Empire gatecampers love afk industrials, it gives them time to passive target and scan you and then set up for a quick kill and loot.
    • Lastly, when travelling in lowsec, always have your Local chat window open.  When you jump in, you have plenty of time "cloaked" to check it for pirates.  If there are some there, look at where your ship is pointed (hopefully a planet) and jump there.  Then you can attempt to do some hopscotching around while you make a safespot to jump to and log or you prepare for an insta jump to a gate.  No instas?  make a safespot and log.  Log in your alt and scout during one of the times mentioned before, rinse repeat until out of there.

I am a Carebear player.  Always have been always will be.  That's why I play mmo's, I find them a little slower and better suited to my skills.  That's why I don't PVP, I can't usually beat another player.

With that being said I understand being killed via PVP.  Don't like it but I accept it.

Now with THAT being said EVE is the worst.  I agree with the OP.  Sure all the pirates can give reasons about scouting and that's why the podded you.  Its all a load of crap.  People who like to gank/grief love EVE.  What better way to show your prowess by taking your Battleship and blowing up a mining barge.  What fun!!!!!

I know, if I don't like it quit, don't go into low sec space blah blah blah.....all the usual comments from a griefer to justify his actions.  In a sense they are correct.  But in the end its only to cause you gried, that is the only reason they do it.

I REALLY don't mind getting killed, but it bothers me when it has no reason and is simply pointless.

I know I will get flamed for this.  But nothing can convince me otherwise.  Flying up to my asteroid belt and blowing me sky high serves no purpose than getting you off.

I do a fair bit of pirating, I'm into belt piracy myself because I'm not good at gatecamping and don't really like it. I like to be up close and see my victim suffer and die slowly *ahem* anyway I hunt in belts and like it because,

1: I get a thrill when I warp into a belt and engage a target in a fight to the death. It could be a miner in a barge or an NPCer in a Battleship, doesn't matter both carry goods I can sell and I enjoy filling both.

2: I enjoy podding other players, why you ask? I just like it, Barge or Battleship doesn't really make a difference. Perhaps the biggest plus for me is when I get "fan mail" from disgruntled carebears, I always keep the best fan mail as I exchange them with friends (quite a few people do).

3: Some do it as a living in EVE but I don't it's purely pleasure, I make money from NPCing and am often attacked in 0.0 and somtimes podded. However that's life, just have to pick yourself up and dust yourself down then get some revenge and that makes the kill 1000% sweeter!

4: I RP and my char was a former sex slave on an Amarr space station, and she now gets erotic pleasure from executing Amarr scum and the Ni-Kunni filth that pollutes EVE. However the obsession with killing has turned her into psychopath that will ritualy sacrifice to her Goddess any person/race that doesn't share her genocidal views of the Amarr. Oh and she's a big Gary Numan and Frankie Goes to Hollywood fan, so don't say anything bad about them or you'll die many times!

You should make avoiding people like her fun, fit som stabs to your ship and get some instas for your routes. Also make safe spots before mining in a system and try making instas from the safe spot to the gates. Frustrating people like me can be alot of fun and will generate some "fan mail" that will make you laugh. Remember you only need to frustrate me to win, you don't need to fight and win.

Until we meet again DEUS VULT!

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience"
