Here is an excerpt from an IGN Insider interview with BioWare:

Insider: That leads into some of the talk that was going around the office when the MMO was announced. There's been a lot of speculation here that it will be a KOTOR sequel. While you can't talk about the specifics of the project yet, stylistically will we see an MMO that is very similar to some recent BioWare productions?

Ray: Well, as an example, some of the games that James has worked on go back to the early days of BioWare: Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate 2, Neverwinter Nights, Knights of the Old Republic and more recently Jade Empire. Certainly, all of those will have an influence in the style of game we're going to develop. We always strive to improve and one of our goals is to remain very humble and to recognize that we have to innovate and remain a leader in the space, and try to bring more quality and bring new things to our games.

I didn't play their Jade Empire game, just have 0 appeal.  I think Neverwinter is a downgrade compare to earlier products.

But I still have a blind belief in Bioware to make the best MMO on the market!

Just because you don't know the ruleset doesn't mean it's a "downgrade".

NeverWinter Nights is by far the best D&D based game that has online play.

Neverwinter Nights has literally...endless content. There are 2 expansions, then like 4 or 5 Fan/Player/Dev made expansions that you can buy and download off the site, as well as the things you can do with the creator/DM.

I really believe that Biowear will make the best space MMo in the market. Oh god hear my prayers and pick up SWG and make it a game once again.

That blurb really didn't reveal anything. All Ray said was what most folks already know, that being their back catalogue of developed games...

Sadly, the OP isn't really anything anyone didn't know (or guess) already.

BioWare makes some great games. My Favorite is KoTOR. I wasn't a NWN fan although it is a good solid game. I'm just very tired of fantasy (D&D especially since I've been playing it since I was 12 is all it's varies editions and while I know NWN is different from a table top RPG. Fantasy is still old to me.) in general. I'm really hoping that BioWare's MMO is Sci-Fi based (done right). The previous Sci-fi MMO's have been mediocre at best. SWG being the exception until the CU then the NGE. I've tried EVE and AO and they just aren't my type of game.

I'm hoping beyond hope that BioWare is actually making (NOT SWG2) another Star Wars MMO. Perhaps Old republic setting would be pretty awesome in my opinion. Considering BioWare has a ton of content from KoTOR no doubt in a box somewhere.

I'm also keeping my eye on Spacetime Studios for the Nex-Gen Sci-Fi MMO. Of course rumors are already farting about saying their making Wing Commander online. lol totally unfounded other than some of the devs are ex-wing commander but also some are ex-SWG devs too.

    OK, so what's your point?

The point is that it was something about BioWare and the MMO. I was just sharing a little info. No it is not a big deal, its just something I saw.

I cant say if they would make a good MMO or not. I have seen some really awesome game companies try to swing to a new genre and totally screw it up beyond belief. I have seen great companies turn sour quick all because they got tied into a big massive conglomerate. But yes I have also seen companies shine even more when branching out. But usually its the former two things that happen.

Personally I dont want anyone to save SWG because I am at the point I think its beyond saving. Nothing anyone can do will ever make it shine like it did before the CU and I definately dont think anyone can make it better anymore. There is just too much damage that has been done to the game over the years.

I think Bioware could fart on a keyboard and make a better D&D game than the one turbine did.

So you're sharing (wasting space) info about an MMO that has nothing to do with SW:G?  As well as two companies that have nothing to do with SW:G?

Neverwinter wasn't a downgrade of BG 1 or 2 it was a new game. And it was useing the new rules for D&D and also even Bioware said the Single Player stuff was put in too show off the NWN Toolset and how much could be done with it. As for Jade Empire it was kinda doomed from the start, lets face it Bioware just came off a TON of good games. BG 2 was the better 'over all' RPG in 2000 unlike the hack and slash of Diablo 2. Neverwinter Nights was a good game and had a great toolset with it. Infact I've used the Toolset for maps when playing Pen and Paper D&D. And KOTOR was great cuz it wasn't a norm Clone Wars/GCW setting, they went back and did a great game, with one of the best Storylines in a game.

Jade Empire well... First off list 3 Pen and Paper RPG's, D&D, Shadowrun (btw Shadowrun would make a great MMO) and Rifts would be my picks. See you don't see that many 'Kung-Fu' RPG's around. Granted there are a few, and there are rulebooks for games like GURPS but most of the Kung-Fu games are games like Motal Kombat or Street Fighter. Also lets face it everyone and there mother wants Bioware to do KOTOR 3.
