World of Warcraft: Profession Guides Wanted

StraddenStradden Managing EditorMember CommonPosts: 6,696

Blizzard's World of WarCraft is looking for a few good profession guides. Any players that have created these high-quality guides will be given the opportunity to make it onto worldofwarcraft.com:

Have you created your own high-quality profession guides? We plan on linking to the best player-created guides on a new special links page. If you've written an excellent guide about one of the game's many professions, there's a good chance we'll link to it on worldofwarcraft.com! Here are the requirements:

  • Guide must be focused entirely on at least one of the twelve professions of World of Warcraft
  • Blizzard does not host guides; they must be hosted on your own web server
  • Site must be capable of getting traffic from our web site (estimated 1,000-20,000 hits a day)
  • Guides must contain quality information
  • Must not contain offensive content or link to offensive content
  • We will link to guides posted in the World of Warcraft forums only if they have been stickied by the Community Team
  • Advertising links on your site must not link to sites that violate the World of Warcraft Terms of Use Agreement
  • Broken links will be removed if site is down for a long period of time
  • Blizzard reserves the rights to add/remove links at any time

To submit your guide, mail the link to wowguide@Blizzard.com. Don't forget to include the profession in question in the subject line!

I have been playing WoW since beta and let me give you MY professions guide right now, in one simple statement:

    Don't Bother.

The best advice for professions I can give you is this: Be an enchanter for the single purpose of disenchanting crappy quest loot and selling the parts. Don't bother leveling up the enchanting because it will cost you WAY toooooo much and 35 other people in your guild are already enchanters and can enchant your weapon for you. Also, for your second profession, just choose one of the gathering profs like mining, herbalism or skinning and sell everything you gather up as well.

Using your professions like this will easily get you money for your mount by lvl 40 and you will always have cash.

The only profession I can see as a must involves Hunter. If you are a hunter, you almost HAVE to be an engineer. Simply put, you need bullets. Yea, friends can make them for you as well, but you can't really rely on other people for a basic item that stops you in your tracks if you are without it. As an engineer, there are only a couple of items you can sell, so it is a mostly useless profession except for your bullets. Yea, there are a few trinkets and stuff at end game that come in handy (my Goblin Jumper Cables XL for example save the day many times), but for the most part, its bullets.
