This is a good game. The graphics are great if you like Anime style art, but everything is kept a bit simple so accommodate for better gameplay in larger battles. Charecter customization options are also limited for this reason. The UI is very different from Western MMOs and takes a bit of getting used to. After you are used to the interface and have customized it to your liking you will find the controls are tight and very nicely done. I can switch tasks and wipe through mobs very quickly and the bird's eye view camera angle is great. There is little story to speak of so you won't be doing alot of errands for NPCs.
I loved WoW when it came out and I like this too. They are very different games though but if you like an open PvP system, GM run events and a carefree community, this game is for you. If you do not like grinding, if you need NPCs to make you run errands for them or if you need safe areas in a PvP game (or 'Consensual' PvP), then this may not be for you.

Well I played the 30 month free trial on Water Server as a Bellato. By the way don't make a character other than Accretian on that server.
At first I really liked it's anime sci fi style. Nice graphics and it's simplistic Diablo 2-ish game play. I was having fun click click wee! wee! I look cute then CW happened. Well if you are not end game level I found chip wars to be futile. I was a 30lv tank and I got ganked by players all the time. There isn't any game content besides PvP and unless you are high level it gives little reward. The problem is that quests are crap so the only thing is PvP and grinding. So basically you have to intense grind to reach end game and can PvP.
There is potential in the game. I wouldn't call it a MMORPG, imagine battlefield 2 but you have to mindlessly kill things for 3 months before you can play. Oh and it's in 3rd person. The game seems like what it really is, a port of a Korean game that is over a year old.
I'm disappointed in Codemaster's handling of the game. I feel that they use gestapo tactics. I very much doubt I'd buy a game from themagain. The customer service is the main reason I quit the game.
Odd LaLa, what was so Gestapo about the handling of the game? I am just curious since I am always looking for new perspectives. I found customer service to be plesant and courteous. Also, the GMs have run a few events and I doubt you will ever see 3 GM run events in a month on many MMORPGs. I also play on a different server so experiences may vary I suppose.

I tried to address issues with botting and KSing, they ignored me. The botting and KSing didn't stop so I quit the game. The point I stopped having fun. I posted on the Codemaster's forums and entire threads were deleted dealing with negative aspects of the game. I have proof. I don't feel that opinions should be deleted ever in life and this a game!
Now other people I played with had issues too and they were quitting. Here are examples of what they experienced with GMs: Perma banned for calling another player a noob, others having threads deleted on forums, banned or suspended for several days for critizing a GM, banned critizing a certain guild that exploited the game, GMs are playing the game and unbalancing the races, Banned for expressing opinions about the game on the forums (especially topics on bans), they are also fudging the race population numbers..... I really could go on.

I remember a guy being banned for three days for calling a GM a n00b. He thought it was a character but didn't notice the Pink name and the GM badge. He wasn't perma-banned either he was banned for three days. If this is the same person we are referring to then it is a bit of an exaggeration to say someone was perma-banned for 'calling someone a n00b'. I see people get away with more crap than I ever see in an MMO. The names can be almost anything you want, they allow you to do certain things AFK like mine. They could care less what you do with your character just as long as you do not harass people. Sounds like a good policy to me.

I have no problems with reading comprehension, but it seems you do. First, I never said anything good or bad about the game in that post or even commented about someone else's opinions of the game. I simply commented on the "I heard from a story" part of the post, and then on the "I thought I knew that this community is for the hobby MMORPGs and are not the official game forums. I felt it safe to post personal opinions and I guess that ain't true here either." part of the post. No one had their personal opinions deleted. It is a place where EVERYONE can post personal opinions as long as they are in context, and that includes disagreeing with someone else's opinion. Seriously, if someone can't handle having their opinion challenged, then they shouldn't be spouting those opinions around in public.
As for what I think of the game. It is a grind, but a rather fun grind. I can see it getting old soon though. They do have some rather ambitious plans that could make this a great game, but ambitious plans won't keep people playing. The proof will be how well these plans pan out in the future. One problem I do have is the fact that they released the game with it's current chat box, default mouse movement system, no key bind changes, and a system that doesn't even save the changes you make when you log off. Each one doesn't seem that bad, but combined it leaves a bad first impression with most people who play the game.
I am not sure if everyone here is trying to attack you in anyway. You seem like a nice enough person and would probably be fun to game with in the community if you were on my server. Sorry to see you go. I do agree with one thing though. The BOTs and KSing are starting to get a little out of hand. The problem is, you have to have definite proof of it. This is not as easy to get as it seems. You literally need to FRAPS someone doing it and mail that to codemasters. I would rather they ban someone for unquestioned proof of the deed than based on a single complaint or few complaints. Sometimes a person can get accused of KSing and it was a complete accident or unintentional. It would be really bad for that person to get banned for that.
They should ban all AFK buffing of any kind though. It is just too hard to tell who has a penny in their keyboard and who is running bot software. Allowing one and not the other gimps your ability to weed these people out IMHO. But then again, I left the Water server and joined the Fire server and I got along alot better with people there. Perhaps it was just the server/race community you were in.
Anyhow, although I disagree with some of your post, I meant no offence or any kind of attack. I only made those statements because my findings had been to the contrary. Good luck in your next MMO, if it's DDO we might even run into each other I play a few games and am not very serious about any of them but think they are fun nonetheless.

To the OP, I am sincerely sorry your simple request for an opinion about RFO degenerated into a pointless flame war.
i had played this game up until i was level 31 or 32 and the pve is decent and barable, but once you get to the pvp the game just totaly turns me off, 1v1 fights can last for a hour because you can use a pot that heals you for over 50% of your life every 3 seconds so basicly it comes down to who ever gets a popup or runs out of pots.
The graphics are good except for every charecter looks like a cloan and everyone is stuck to wearing the same armor so it looks like a bunch of cloans running around.
all in all a not very good game, the base a lot of the game to soloing which doesnt make much sence imo, its a mmo you should always be able to group with someone to get you what you need. The pvp on a large scale is very good, but once you get down to the 4v4 and 1v1 its just not fun at all, it comes down to who can carry the most pots

I've never such read such reactionary irrational bullshit. So La-La doesn't like RFO, why do you care so much? She and some others had a bad experience with the game, again, why do you care? Why does it make you so angry that someone doesn't like a game that you do? I sincerely hope you realise you are doing the exact thing you accuse La-La of: attacking someone for their opinion. Was not the purpose of your post to prove that your own opinion is more important than La-La's? But, of course, you and La-La both are entitled to your opinion. However, it is my opinion that you are a complete hypocrite. You are the reason for meaningless flame wars such as this. And yes I know by responding we are at the same level.
But the illogical absurdity of your post forced my hand. Against my better judgement I had point your hypocrisy and flawed reasoning. Disliking a game you like is not a personal attack. Your post, and frankly this one, is. Perhaps next time you should practice what you preach before rattling off an angry knee-jerk reaction rant. But that's just my opinion. I glad you feel I have nice vocabulary. Thank you. I wasn't aware I was using obscure words though. You clearly didn't understand the purpose of my post. I decided to point out something that struck me as hypocritical. Some the post directed at La-La had a somewhat angry tone, this is the RFO forum and she was saying some negative things about RFO, so it wasn't a huge leap to assume the anger was coming from a disagreement as to the game's quality. It wasn't directly said, true, but it was a solid guess.
You know, I could call you names in retaliation, but what purpose would making fun of you serve? None. So I won't. As with n2sooners, there is an obvious communation dissconnnect between us. If you understand what I trying to say, great. If not, so be it. I'm finished reading and posting on this thread. Feel free to flame away, I won't flame back.

I am sincerely sorry your simple request for an opinion about RFO degenerated into a pointless flame war.
i had played this game up until i was level 31 or 32 and the pve is decent and barable, but once you get to the pvp the game just totaly turns me off, 1v1 fights can last for a hour because you can use a pot that heals you for over 50% of your life every 3 seconds so basicly it comes down to who ever gets a popup or runs out of pots.
The graphics are good except for every charecter looks like a cloan and everyone is stuck to wearing the same armor so it looks like a bunch of cloans running around.
all in all a not very good game, the base a lot of the game to soloing which doesnt make much sence imo, its a mmo you should always be able to group with someone to get you what you need. The pvp on a large scale is very good, but once you get down to the 4v4 and 1v1 its just not fun at all, it comes down to who can carry the most pots
