I need some help to config my EQ2 to run smoth on my system.
Every one on the everquest 2 forum say they can run the game at max with a 133mhz cpu and a voodoo 2
And i cant even run the game at balanced settings at 1280x1024 in battles.
My system
AMD64 4000 runing at 2800 mhz
4x512mb ram = 2gb ram runing at full speed
x800XT PE
I know i should be able to play it at higher detail level but its not posible, i have looked at every config site i can find and i have done exactly as i say but i cant get it to run smoth in battles or when im with many ppl.
So now i ask of you to link me the "config" file so i can try yours out.
Al the others game i play runs fins, i play half life 2 at ful deatail with full FSAA and i get high 3d makrs score so this game should not be a problem.

But i cant even run the game at balanced settings.
Get used to it mate. EQ2 is an ugly game because only about 0.5% can run the game on anything other then balanced without having their computers melt.
Sure you can run around in unpopulated areas with high settings, but as soon as 4-5 people get on your screen your fps will drop drastically, and when they start casting spells, you computer will explode.

the setting I used to tweak to the greatest effect was complex shader distance.. bringing that down to about 5 or 10 REALLY helps in dungeons
ps. EQ2 has the worst graphics engine I've ever seen
Have played:
UO, WOW, COH/V, EQ2
Currently playing:
Age of Conan (EU)
If you are able please post your frame rates, RAM usage and CPU load for the following settings:
EX performance:
Ballanced:
High Quality (not EX quality):
I noticed something last night and I am curious about it...
