Why won't they let it die already. Not that I don't like LOTR...I mean I like it enough to fall asleep during the last movie (It was 3 hours and the movie theater was dark)......
Anyways, all I am saying is way to do a great story to death. I know I will probably get like 800 responses calling me "IgNerrent" or a "N00b." All I am saying is I am ready for something different and its a waste spending time on this. I dunno how it will be better than any of the other crappy *failed* fantasy mmos out there.

Something new? How about the fact that it puts back RPG in MMORPG. MMO's nowadays are just plain crap. Boring grindfests as far as the eye can see.
There is no depth in games anymore. I think LOTRO will change that. It really brings the Lord of the Rings to life. Oh, and it's based on the books, not the MOVIES. The movies were good, but they poisoned people.
This will be a game like no other. It's pretty much an answer to all the roleplayers out there that don't want to deal with 11 year old punks screaming "IF J00 RP UR TEH LOZER WIF NO LIFE!11!!!1one!1!one!1".
Personally, I think LOTRO will be the greatest online experience ever made. They stay true to the books. They don't ruin it by bending to the mainstream of games and the media.
Well your entitled to your opinion but, I can't believe you would say what when there are FAR better MMOs coming out. Warhammer and D&D are far better examples of RP than LOTR. I read about the game it it looks to be rather limited and will have a few playable races at the release. It looks like a total waste of time, try Conan.

Nah Connan looks like a rather poor game.
There are so many games comming out now that it shouldnt matter how this game is. You dont like it with knowing very little about it and never playing it. If you want to jump to conclusions thats fine.
However please dont go to another game's forum just to bash it, with no evidence nor compelling arguement. Troll somewhere else.
Thanks
Yeah, so you don''t want 11 year olds? WHY CHOOSE THIS??? 11 year olds LOVE LOTR, indeed I did when I was 11. Can't blame them, its a good storyline even if it is a bit drawn out in the book... Also, incase you havn't noticed movie/book/anything tie-ins with games usually turn out to be ripoffs. So, i'm not saying this will be bad, just that it PROBABLY will be.
The good thing about this game is that the people that grant the license for 'whatever' is pretty adament that things hold true to the lore.
That said, I have a decent amount of hope that Turbine will have learned a lesson from their past games, as well as taken a page from current successful titles, and provide us with a good MMO. After all, they are messing with one of the most beloved, most debated and highly coveted fictional world licenses.
If they can't pull this off, then they're toast.

HarHAR. DDO having more RPing than LOTRO? That'd be the day. It's just another Guild Wars, except with a better battle system. Not only that, but you have no room to RP. Everything's instanced.
Okay moron, since when did beta become a place to roleplay. Last I checked, beta was there to test the game. DDO is perfect for roleplayers and there are thousands that will roleplay right along side of me when head start begins on Friday. There are at least 400 roleplayers that has actually shown interest in roleplaying on the DDO forums. Any intelligent person would know that the 400 on the forums are the vocal minority for the other thousands of Roleplayers out there waiting to play this game. This game is not a grind fest nor is it a pvp game. Perfect for roleplayers.
I just say "to each his own".
