Necron or AO FSP vrs Non

I get my new comp in a few weeks (instead of having to use the schools) which means I'm in the market for a new game.  Since it seems WOW wont be out for... well ever... or AC1 upgrade... and I'm not interested in any of the current or upcoming new games (FFXI, SWG, or LII)  I think I've decided to give either Necron or AO a try.  I've never played a FSP MMOR... so I'm really not sure about necron and I've read up on AO and it seems like a decent game.  Any opinions? Or does anyone have a non MMOR I cant get into for a few months till something good comes along?image

    Ohh... another Savage Eden?  Anyone going to give it a try or are the graphics turning others away?  If anyone whos in beta want to give me some suggestions that would be cool.

    I'd definitely vote for Neocron over Anarchy On-line, You're bound to find alot more info on AO, since it's been more commercialised than NC, but it is vastly inferior in many important ways in my opinion, it's the one to go for if you're going for this kind of MMOG.. they're fairly different to your EQ/DAoC style

    However, NC it is still riddled with bugs, not merely annoying ones either.. one's that can lead to death and loss of hard-earned items, It's got a great community though, although you wouldn't think it by looking at the forums, it's just they've put up with alot by sticking with the game. The developers have a tendency to nerf things alot also, which can be annoying if you've dedicated alot of time to a specific setup.

    I'm not trying to put you off :P but you should be aware of these things if you choose to play it, but, if you give it a chance and don't give up at the first hurdle.. it can be a great gaming experience, especially if you're into PvP and clan related activities.. try it for yourself though, and try not to pay too much attention to opions on the Neocron forums :)

    If you don't mind waiting, www.faceofmankind.com is due for release in April '04 and they're currently taking applications for Beta testers... it looks like it's shaping up nicely, so it's worth looking into.
