Free account keys for SoG?

Saturday, November 19, 2005 8:23 PM I recieved an email that I was chosen to be a Pioneer for SoG or something like that.
It said at some point of the newsletter: Join for free the epic adventure in Settlers of Ganareth
starting December 8th, 2005!
And below that was REGISTER FOR FREE link. When I clicked that I went to special ordering page where I was able to buy DnL preorder. I have no idea what's what anymore, preorders, DnL, SoG, pioneers and all that things, I'm just confused.
I know this is old and it passed already but I was wondering how the f**k can something be free (REGISTER FOR FREE link in the newsletter) when I have to pay for it?

You were paying for the Pioneer key, so that you could get the dragon and have Pioneer in front of your name in DnL and to take your dragon and your gold from SoG to DnL...I hope this helps you.
And yes it did say Free in the E-mail that I got too.
If it's true that you have to buy something (and it is) then is sucks big time, it's a scam that's what it is...
I'm utterly confounded by this game as well, I thought it was free, and you have to download clients? what? so confuzzled

As far as I know there is NOTHING free concerning Dark & Light. I recieved their newsletter saysing its "free" and when I clicked the REGISTER FOR FREE button a page opened where I had to buy the game. So I didn't...
