Eve Playabilty overall

g-shadg-shad Member Posts: 3

Having been on eve for 2 years and 8 months it is a fantastic overall game

best features:

quality of graphics, playability, plenty to do, has its own economy that pushes into the real worl "Buy and sell on ebay", plenty of upgrades new ships modules etc

fairly priced

Drawabacks:
new players have difficuilty in building up an account as its hard to make isk = money
theres a lot of lag which slows the gameplay especially when upgrades are made
support is lax
When an upgrade comes out any gear you already have could be nerfed thus you lose what you worked for sometimes months of work and loss of isk = money

when going into uncharted space your battling a no win situation cos the richer alliances kill you thus turning you into a poor player very quickly

but even after all that im still playing, hopefully more will be done for the new player to keep it interesting

lastly a point to note the skill needed to play the game is more knowledge of an ever changing market, the better your skills the better the modules you can buy then the better and more expensive ship you can buy so in all money = power not skill at working controls

I find its all about money & grouping. If you dont sort some form of money making system the game gets very boring very fast as youre jus fudging the same missions again and again for pittence of standing. And eve is a pretty poor 1 player game for pve.

    To add to this though...

this game is player-centric... "PvP" is one way of thinking of it. But not only combat. You need to show some diplomacy at all times as well.

If you want to go to 0.0 space DO NOT just fly out there. If you are caught you WILL die. Even if you are not caught, you will be worried, running, and generally not really enjoying yourself.

But - ask other players. Find out who "lives" in that area and talk to them. Try working with some of the people there, most are quite willing to get anohter ally, friend, or "pet" to work the area.

In Eve, more than any in other game i've played, you really need to consider the other players and what they want.

If you are really good at dealing with other players, and can organise deal/teams.. then you will go far.
