i played ao for a while and i finally canceled it after a while, i had a metaphysicist and i had some fun but i remember coming back and giving it another shot and making a soldier and when i leveled up, there were so many things to put my points into it was almost a little overboard,  i like multi-faceted abilities in game and rich characters but does anyone thing it was just a little too complicated?

i love you but i've chosen darkness

It all depends on your lvl really. and what your adding IP's into. Everyone hits ability cap a few lvls before they get next title, wich allows you to spread your IP points around. right now im lvl 80, and am going to hit ability cap soon because at lvl 100 i get new title. At my lvl, only getting 20k IPs is getting really tight, and i cant spread them around, but as soon as i cap then ill have tons of extra IP's to go around. And after lvl 100 (i think) i get like 40k IP per lvl.

Just depends on your lvl, what class/race you are, what your adding to, and sometimes what perks you use, but around those title caps is where you get all the extra IP's youll need.

It can be a bit complicated, yes.  I think it's fairly critical to review the spoiler sites and read the guides on classes.  The main Funcom AO forums had great guides and links to other guides for each class.

It's very easy to misspend your IPs and not realize it until about level 40 or so.  But once you get the hang of how the system of Implants and nano-buffs works you can realize the potential of the class.  Just don't be tempted to try everything in one character :)
