Cherusci Warband, a guild.

Since there isn't a guild forum, I'll post this here. All links can be found at the bottom.
Cherusci are a new guild with only a handfull of players atm, but since the game isn't out yet that is logical. Some may say we're stupid to make a guild before game is launched but I disagree. Roma Victor has one of the best, if not the best, pre-launch communities out there. There are already many guilds (Roman & Barbaric), including ours.
Roma Victor will be a roleplaying game among other things so our warband is based on historical facts. But more about that on our site (links are at the bottom). We plan to make a friendly community, that will be well organised once the game comes out. Since the game itself will be VERY realistic, being organised will be most important. Battles? I guess that goes along with organised, we are a warband after all.
Everyone can join of course, as long as he doesn't mind a little waiting til the game comes out. This site states new year's eve as the release date but I reckon it will be longer, but not much. And nobody says you can't play other games, visit the forum every now and then before it is released.

Or will you give me good competition? There is no better legion around then the 24th... setting barb villiages on fire does get boreing after a while.

You'll easely recognize me when we face each other on the battlefield, I'll be the huge brown bearded/haired man in the first rank. So, you know where to look.

If you Romans had the guts to fight in the first ranks (commanders) I could say the same.

An army doesnt survive without the leadership skills and morale transmited by their general/warlord. That's the reason why leaders dont charge - they are worth too much to lose getting shot by arrows.

Sure if it means that much to you, you win. No need for insulting.
We have a simple difference in the way the armies are set up.
Barbarian generals are only slightly less moronic then the normal grunts so they arn't really worth anything more. They can stand and die(as they usually do) and it really won't matter. hehe
P.S.- If you havn't you should make a thread on the offical forums.

So you wish to have a general vs general combat to decide the fate of the armies? That is the old and honorable way of doing things. Ferox would probably accept and of course destroy whatever leader steps forward.

Although I didn't mean that you reminded me since I though about it some time ago. It wouldn't be fun imo since we would take the pleasure out of dieing from 1 side and pleasure of victory from the other. Well, Romans did have superior tactics but 1 on 1 I believe they stand little chance. We'll see...

Just wanted to let you know that Cherusci Warband is the largest barbarian guild so far. We have 50+ members (of which many aren't active and waiting for release) as it stands.
Since release is schedule in 2 weeks, we'll soon start to make our final plans for the game. Providing the release date won't be pushed back again.
