I love FPS, but as well, I don't think this was too impressive. HL2 was good, but heck, HL2 deathmatch sucked. Perhaps F.E.A.R will be fun online? The melee system they have for the game is very fun in the demo, so I hope it will be implemented in multiplayer well. Luckily, a multiplayer demo will be out soon, so you can try it before you buy it. Hope it's a keeper in retail.
I thought you was talking about the show on MTV from 2-3 years back. Oh, how I enjoyed watching those pop culture college/university students scream as they sit in a room where someone was murdered in the dark for a couple hours. I laughed at them so much, loved it.
F.E.A.R. the game I would have played it if they weren't so fidgety about the download...
Professor Hubert Farnsworth - That question is less stupid but, you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.
I probably won't be buying it because the engine seemed to lag or was just plain inefficient in the single player demo. I'll give the multiplayer demo a chance when it comes out but for some reason I get the feeling the engine just isn't that greatly designed.
You know I didnt think much about it at first either but man I love how you can slow down time. Kinda like that Matrix affect. I also thought the AI was pretty good. Now as far as graphics goes DOOM 3 cant be beat.
I like the intro. The blood and slow motion will probably be noted in the gameplay. This game does seem to tell a story better than Doom 3 and HL2 because of the cutscenes and hallucinations. This game also own the domain www.gameoftheyear.com.
FEAR appears to be more of a psychological horror which is what I like. Much like the movie "The Ring" was. I love horror and I love FPS's so I was really waiting for this one. "The Suffering" I feel kinda sucked so that was a let down. Now the thing that disappoints me about "FEAR" is that the developer stated that you cant kill the little girl in the game.
I'm really looking forward to F.E.A.R since it was announced. Finally a real scary game. Not just a game that throws thousand of evil looking monsters at you. The story sounds better than the story of most horror shooters. It looks like a splendid mix between Western and japanese horror. The little girl walking in the roof is really freaking me out. I have tried the singleplayer demo and I played a little of the mp beta. Gameplay is smooth, the bullet time effect is cool (It morphes the sound ) and the visuals are awesome.

Hmm, what about.. umm.. what is it. System Shock, I loved that game.. it played with your mind so much because the zombies would just appear out of nowhere and just slap you upside the head with a wrench and you'd panic, maybe accidentally pull out a rocket launcher and blow both of you up.. ah... I miss that game.
I tried to play the single player demo and the engine sucks, thats the most positive thing I can say at this point. But earlier I loaded the multiplayer version up and no servers were up, so I am going to just play BF2.

Oh Yeah! BF2 is going to be a classic for sure. I cant get enough of it.

Please dont talk about system shock2 that damn game scared me back in 2000 when i played it and just the memories of the freaky mess in the game makes me jumpy
ask for the fear mp demo im playing the heck out of it. cranked the graphics to full and whoohoo. though ppl seem to be using the overpowered " penatrator"a little much. heh dirty name
but as a millitary theme fan I need stuff to drive..alot of stuff..
God I loved System Shock, one of the few games that scare me to this day. You're just off on your own researching 'very' slowly of some alien weapon and you hear a zombie that immediately slaps you upside the head with its bloody arm knocking you about 25% down health, and since you're caught off guard he ends up getting a second strike and third while you stumble to get your gun out of the holster and you cap his head off while a 'second' one sneaks behind you and finishes you off.. Very scary indeed.
The multiplayer demo is fun but it's not as scary as single player. The multiplayer is alot like Counter-strike with different features such as slow-mo, more effective grenades, slower movement, and respawn after death.

Hah I played a little bit of it and it's great but I just can't get myself to play those dark fps games without getting a little jumpy.
